Cosaint Arms Introduces Cutting Edge CP Series Pistols

(East Flat Rock, NC) – Cosaint Arms, a leading manufacturer of premium firearms, is proud to announce the release of its new CP series of pistols. This revolutionary line of firearms features a uniquely designed ported slide and barrel. This design not only reduces muzzle flip, but it also allows for a constant view of the front sight, providing shooters with greater accuracy and improved shooting performance.

The CP series includes standard features such as an optic ready design with cover plate, ambi-safety, aluminum frame, and a standard Cerakote finish. The series is available in compact size (CS), mid-size (MS), and full size (FS) options, allowing shooters to select the best fit for their needs.

NSSF Applauds Sen. Daines’ FIND Act Stand Against ‘Woke’ Discrimination

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, welcomed the introduction of S. 428, the Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination (FIND) Act, into Congress by U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.). The bill has 14 original co-sponsors. This vital legislation will end the ability of corporate entities from profiting from taxpayer-funded federal contracts while discriminating against a constitutionally-protected industry at the same time.

“This legislation led by Senator Daines puts ‘woke’ corporations on notice that Americans’ God-given Second Amendment rights aren’t for sale. Corporations that choose to deny lawful businesses in the firearm industry essential goods and services would no longer benefit from taxpayer-funded federal contracts, which they use to fund their gun control agenda,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “This bill will ensure public policies are crafted by the elected officials the American public sends to represent them and not unaccountable “woke” corporate executives. We thank Senator Daines for his leadership to ensure fairness in business, reasserting Congress’ role in ensuring the federal government isn’t picking marketplace winners and losers based on politics and protecting the ability of a lawful industry to compete for goods and services without artificial and agenda-driven barriers.”

Sen. Daines’ FIND Act does not tell companies with whom they must do business. However, just as companies can choose who they wish to do business with, so can the government when it spends taxpayers’ money. This bill ensures corporations cannot benefit from contracts and subcontracts funded by taxpayers only to use their financial strength to unfairly discriminate against the firearm industry. For far too long, corporations have engaged in “boardroom gun control” to force firearm businesses to adopt measures that would restrict Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Corporations are free to hold these anti-Second Amendment policies if they choose but would forfeit access to lucrative federal contracts.

U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman introduced companion legislation, H.R. 53, in the U.S. House of Representatives, which has 102 co-sponsors. Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott signed a similar law in Texas in 2021 and similar legislation is being considered in other state capitols.

Senators Daines’ legislation would bring those same fair business protections to the federal government to ensure corporate entities are not forcing policies that deny American civil liberties through the benefit of taxpayer-funded federal contracts.

EAST ALTON, IL (February 16, 2023) — Team Winchester members Anthony Matarese Jr. and Joe Fanizzi proved once again why they are two of the top sporting clays shooters in the world. Matarese Jr. and Fanizzi recently traveled to the United Arab Emirates for the first inaugural Fujairah Mountain Championship.  This event offered one of the largest prizes in the shooting sports with over $200,000 in added money paid out to top shooters.
More than 400 of the best sporting clays competitors from 44 different countries gathered to compete while also having to battle the harsh desert conditions and steep mountainous terrain. When the dust had settled, Matarese claimed 2nd place while Fanizzi took home the Junior championship and overall 3rd place.

Rimfire Challenge Shooting Association Joins NSSF +ONE® Movement as Official Partner

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Rimfire Challenge Shooting Association (RCSA) has signed on to be an official partner of the +ONE® Movement, a mentorship initiative developed by NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, that focuses on peer-to-peer-driven development in shooting sports and hunting.

The +ONE Movement is an initiative developed by NSSF in response to studies showing millions of people want to know more about hunting and target shooting. The initiative encourages communities across the nation to participate in mentorship related to firearm safety, firearm basics, shooting sports and hunting.

Designed to introduce new shooters to the shooting sports in an exciting, family-friendly format, Rimfire Challenge matches focus on competition with .22-caliber rifles and pistols. Matches are open to shooters of all ages and shooting experience levels, with events conducted at ranges nationwide and an annual World Championship taking place each October.

The RCSA is the clearinghouse for participants and scheduled matches, and it provides the framework for events through the RCSA rule book. The organization also promotes rimfire competition to interested individuals and organizations, supports the efforts of beginning competitors and clubs, and solicits support for rimfire events from organizations and industry businesses interested in sustaining a shooting sport that provides opportunities for participants of all skill levels.

NSSF Welcomes U.S. Senator Crapo’s Hearing Protection Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, proudly welcomes U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo’s (R-Idaho) reintroduction of the Hearing Protection Act. The legislation, S. 401, is co-sponsored by 24 additional senators, all who endorse the legislation that would provide greater access to the firearm safety devices by regulating them in the same manner as a firearm.

“This no-nonsense legislation by Senator Crapo would remove unnecessary and onerous regulations for an accessory that is nothing more than a muffler for a gun,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Suppressors are safety tools that reduce the sound of gunfire to a level that won’t cause instant and permanent hearing loss, enables more accurate marksmanship and allows shooting ranges to be better neighbors. The Hearing Protection Act would reduce unnecessary barriers for this accessory that is currently regulated the same way as automatic firearms. Suppressors were originally listed under the National Firearms Act over poaching concerns during the Great Depression, but those fears proved to be unfounded. Suppressors don’t completely silence a firearm, only reduce the report from a level equal to a jet taking off to one similar to that of a jackhammer. NSSF is grateful to Senator Crapo for his leadership to remove unneeded barriers to owning a safety device that is designed to make recreational shooting safer.”

The Hearing Protection Act, which was introduced by Sen. Crapo in previous Congresses, would reclassify suppressors to regulate them like traditional firearms by removing them from the 1934 National Firearms Act. That would cease the overly burdensome federal transfer process with an instantaneous National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) verification, making the purchase and transfer process for suppressors equal to the process for a rifle or shotgun. The legislation would also tax suppressors under the Pittman-Robertson Act instead of the National Firearms Act, putting more funding into state wildlife conservation agencies.

The Hearing Protection Act would not change any laws in states that already prevent suppressor use or ownership, nor does it eliminate background check requirements. Suppressors are legal to own in 42 states and 41 states allow them for hunting. Similar legislation, H.R. 152, was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this year by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.).

UAS Leader Integrates DAPS Digital Manufacturing Process


SAN DIEGO – 15 February 2023 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), the world’s leading manufacturer of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), radars, electro-optic and related mission systems, is partnering with Divergent Technologies, Inc. (Divergent) to support its Additive Manufacturing applications development efforts and implement a full digital manufacturing process for GA-ASI’s products. Divergent has developed a data-driven approach to design, fabricate and assemble vehicle structures called the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS). GA-ASI is working with Divergent to apply this capability to manufacturing its line of UAS.

“Throughout our 30 years of designing and developing advanced UAS, GA-ASI has been focused on implementing new capabilities into our manufacturing process,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “We’re working with Divergent to integrate their technology as part of our Additive Design and Manufacturing Center of Excellence strategy, with the goal of optimizing our design and manufacturing processes and providing next generation UAS at the lowest cost.”

In 2022, GA-ASI began a joint development program with Divergent, which led to a stronger strategic partnership on multiple platforms. GA-ASI’s Additive Manufacturing (AM), aircraft integrity, material and design engineering teams are working with Divergent to adapt, apply and qualify its automobile industry-qualified technology to GA-ASI’s aircraft production. Divergent has grown within the automobile sector as a Digital Manufacturing process innovator, producing some of the fastest cars on the market with several recent car OEM adoption announcements.

“Divergent has invented the first industrial digital manufacturing system. Leveraging innovations in artificial intelligence, 3D printing, and automation, DAPS can be used to build the underlying structure for virtually any vehicle – whether land, sea, air, or space – better, faster and more cost efficiently than traditional manufacturing,” said Kevin Czinger, Founder, Lead Inventor & CEO of Divergent.

GA-ASI and Divergent have already completed two projects leading to a fully integrated small (< 500 lbs.) UAS aerostructure, leveraging model-based, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven, and topology optimized designs. The integrated metal structure was 3D printed, which led to the reduction of the part count integration by over 95% while meeting weight targets.

The DAPS process inspected each printed components by creating a full digital twin of the small UAS (SUAS) that was then applied to a fully automated, tool-less robotic assembly process that took less than 20 minutes to complete. This process enabled the team to go from a print-ready SUAS design to a fully assembled deliverable airframe in less than two days. GA-ASI anticipates this capability will enable near-theater ramp capacity in the future to support the warfighter.

This innovative approach to design and manufacturing leads to highly integrated weight and performance-optimized designs that are naturally, but not exclusively, leveraging AM technologies at a substantially lower airframe recurring cost, while providing a rapid tool-less iterative design approach for multiple platform variants.

LAS VEGAS — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, has announced the creation of a new exhibit area for the archery industry at NSSF’s annual SHOT Show®. This exciting new venture is a collaboration between NSSF and Grand View Outdoors, a leading provider of outdoor news and information.

The SHOT Show attracts attendees from around the world each year, including buyers, media and other industry professionals. The show covers more than 816,000 net square feet of exhibit space, featuring over 2,500 companies showcasing the latest in firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting accessories, outdoor apparel and much more. Held annually in Las Vegas, it is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for professionals involved with the shooting sports and hunting industries.

Recognizing a reciprocal need for both firearm and archery retailers to broaden their businesses, the new archery area, branded the Archery Business Pavilion, will feature exhibits from leading manufacturers and suppliers in the archery industry, offering attendees the opportunity to see and experience the latest in archery technology and products. The show area will be designed to provide a comprehensive look at the industry, from traditional archery equipment to cutting-edge technology.

BENGALURU – 14 February 2023 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have jointly announced that turbo-propeller engines, which power GA-ASI’s state-of-art MQ-9B Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), will be supported by the HAL Engine Division at Bengaluru for the Indian market.

“GA-ASI is proud to collaborate with HAL on this prestigious project,” said Dr. Vivek Lall, Chief Executive, General Atomics Global Corporation. “HAL is the foremost Indian public sector Aerospace and Defence agency, and its vast experience in the domain of aero-engine technology makes it our natural partner in India.”

Though the turboprop engine fitted onboard the MQ-9B RPAS looks similar to other commercial engines in its category, it is unique in its configuration and operation, requiring special training and equipment to maintain, repair and overhaul.

The Expression of Interest was exchanged in presence of Mr. C B Ananthakrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director, HAL and Mr. Mihir Kanti Mishra, CEO (Bangalore Complex), between Dr. Vivek Lall, Chief Executive, General Atomics Global Corporation and Mr. B. Krishna Kumar, Executive Director (Engines & IMGT).

“HAL has been manufacturing and providing MRO support for TPE 331-5 engines for the last 40 years. We are also establishing facilities for manufacturing TPE 331-12B engines for HTT-40 project. The engine used on the MQ-9B RPAS belongs to the same family of engines with upgraded configuration to adapt to the RPAS technology. I am glad that HAL Engine Division, Bangalore would be providing MRO support to the engine for MQ-9B RPAS, one of the most sophisticated equipment in the world,” said Mr. C B Ananthakrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director, HAL.

Charleston, SC (February 13, 2023) – NOMAD Outdoor to join the National Wildlife Turkey Federation (NWTF) in celebrating 50 years of successful turkey conservation efforts at the Annual Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, TN. The convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort will take place February 16th-19th, with NOMAD Outdoors at booth 401. Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Skills4Life’s Hunting Events Bring Combat-Wounded Veterans Together

Purple Heart Ranch and Broken S Ranch Welcomed Our Nation’s Heroes

San Antonio, TX (February 13, 2023)–Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Skills4Life program stays busy hosting events for our nation’s combat-wounded veterans. Two events sponsored in December were a huge success for Skills4Life. The Danny Roberson Memorial Hunt was held December 8-11, 2022, at Broken S Ranch, and the Purple Heart Ranch hunt was held December 17-20, 2022.

Four hunters gathered in Sterling City, TX, for the 2022 Purple Heart Ranch hunt. Even though the weather was cold and the temperatures were dropping, each had multiple opportunities to tag deer for freezer meat. The hunters and guides gave it their all, and three Heroes tagged a deer. The previous year’s freeze and the summer drought did not make it easy on the deer over the last year. Despite this, all the Heroes had a great time fellowshipping and sharing memories. Military Warriors Support Foundation and Skills4Life would like to thank everyone involved, especially the Glass family, for hosting our Heroes and welcoming them with open arms.

The 2022 Danny Robertson Memorial Hunt was held at Broken S Ranch. Skills4Life had all but one Hero tag out for the hunt. Everyone had a great time; the food was excellent, and friendships were made. It was a memorial hunt for Danny Robertson, a long-time guide at Broken S Ranch and a friend to all; his presence was definitely felt. Skills4Life is already planning for the 2023 hunt, and as always, we are looking forward to our return to the Broken S Ranch.
