COSAINT ARMS DONATES DOUBLE STACK CUSTOM 1911 TO TENNESSEE FRIENDS OF THE NRA

(East Flat Rock, NC) – Cosaint Arms, a leading manufacturer of custom firearms, announced today that they have donated a custom NRA Double Stack 1911 pistol to the Tennessee Friends of the NRA.

The Cosaint Arms COS21 Double Stack is a government-sized 1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP. The frame and slide are made of steel and has an ambidextrous safety. The pistol has a flat trigger and comes equipped with a fiber optic front sight and an optic-ready slide prep for a C&H Weapons mounting plate with fixed sight cover plate. It also includes two 14+1 MBX magazines and is backed by a lifetime warranty.

NSSF Invites Employees of Patron Member Companies  to Apply for $50,000 in Education Scholarships

Patron Member Scholarship

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Employees of companies that support NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, at the highest level may apply for education aid through the NSSF Patron Member Scholarship Program. NSSF has made a total of $50,000 in scholarship funding available for a maximum of 20 winning entries.

NSSF is accepting applications in the Patron Member Scholarship Program through 5 p.m. EST on Friday, May 19, 2023.

Scholarships are available only to employees and their family members of Patron Member companies of NSSF. (For specific eligibility, refer to the official guidelines.) The scholarship program is one of many benefits that Patron Member companies receive from NSSF.

Applicants must be enrolled in, or have been accepted and plan to attend, a college, university or vocational school during the fall 2023 school year. Scholarships are limited to candidates seeking an undergraduate or vocational degree only. The complete rules, applications and scholarship posters are available on this Scholarship Program webpage. NSSF urges applicants to read the rules thoroughly before applying.

The NSSF Patron Member Scholarship requires an essay on one of the following topics:

· How would you retain, expand and diversify participation in hunting and target shooting among minorities and non-traditional demographic groups?

· What makes a good mentor and how could mentors impact responsible shooting and hunting participation?

· Does gun safety require new laws (aka, “Gun Control”)? Explain and defend your position.

Submitted essays must be in English, typed, double-spaced and single-sided, on 8.5 by 11-inch paper in 11- or 12-point Times New Roman font, Microsoft Word format and not exceed two pages (not including bibliography). No PDF essays will be accepted; however, the application itself may be submitted in PDF format.

Twenty applicants with the highest overall scores will be selected as scholarship prizewinners. The applicant with the highest scored essay will earn the grand prize $8,000 scholarship. One first-place prizewinner with the second-highest scored essay will receive a scholarship of $5,000. One second-place prizewinner with the third-highest scored essay will receive a scholarship of $3,000. The remaining 17 runner-up prizewinners will each receive a scholarship of $2,000. NSSF will notify the winners by email and then list the recipients on its website after their acceptance.

Today, however, the company is both thriving and growing. “AG Composites is not the type of company to sit back and think we have it all figured out,” Matt Tandy said. “We are constantly looking at new technologies and materials in our endless pursuit to produce products that offer outstanding value and excellent performance for our customers. We are incorporating cutting-edge manufacturing such as 3D printing while continuing to research the latest advancements in materials.
The company utilizes modern design software from Solidworks and AutoDesk to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models of every stock manufactured. The AG Composites engineers bring their aerospace industry CAD modeling experience to every stock designed. In addition, the company uses only the highest-quality carbon fiber, epoxy, and paint products to manufacture its premium line of rifle stocks. “We’re able to continue to grow not just because of our look-to-the-future philosophy, but also because of the people we employ,” Tandy continued. “When we first started there was Dave, myself, and our wives, Laurie and Angie, crammed into a behind-the-house hybrid garage-barn. As the business expanded, we’ve gone from 30 employees in 2020, to 45 people in 2021, to 65 people in 2022. By the year’s end we will nearly double that number of employees. We are currently running our day shifts seven days a week, and a night shift Monday-Thursday.

“Currently we employ lots of military veterans, as well as a handful of disabled people recommended to us by Project SEARCH. In our area, Project SEARCH is a program in which the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services has teamed up with Huntsville Hospital locally to provide real-life work experience combined with training in employment and independent living skills to help young people with significant disabilities make successful transitions to productive adult life in the area. It’s been fabulous.”

ARLINGTON, Va., April 26, 2023 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) received additional funding of $64,565,126 on March 24 from the U.S. Army Tactical Aviation and Ground Munitions (TAGM) project office for the procurement of Switchblade® 300 loitering missile systems. This most recent firm-fixed-price contract increases the total funded amount of Switchblade systems under the original U.S. Army contract to $231,331,651. The contract will be managed by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, and the systems are scheduled to be delivered by July 2024.

AeroVironment’s combat-proven Switchblade 300 loitering missile systems have been deployed by the U.S. Army for more than a decade and are currently providing real-time ISR and precision strike support on battlefields in Ukraine. Ideal for use against beyond-line-of-sight targets, Switchblade systems were approved by the U.S. government for use by Ukraine and additional nations after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022. This new U.S. Army contract includes foreign military sales of Switchblade 300 for the first time to France and another allied nation, expanding Switchblade’s footprint internationally.

“Switchblade 300 continues to be a critical weapon in the armed forces of Ukraine’s unmanned systems arsenal,” said Brett Hush, AeroVironment’s vice president and product line general manager for Tactical Missile Systems. “This new contract further demonstrates the global demand for production-ready, combat-proven Switchblade 300 missile systems. The backpackable Switchblade 300 offers operators the flexibility to rapidly maneuver and employ the system on the ground. Real-time video, GPS coordinates, and wave-off capabilities provide the operator confidence in precisely attacking key targets.

This contract award follows an August 2022 contract modification for additional funding by the U.S. Army for procurement of Switchblade 300 loitering missile systems.

GA-ASI ANNOUNCES FY23 CONGRESSIONAL FUNDING OF GRAY EAGLE 25M FOR ARMY NATIONAL GUARD UNITS

SAN DIEGO – 26 April 2023 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) announces that the Army National Guard (ARNG) has received fiscal year 2023 Congressional funding for 12 new Gray Eagle 25M (GE-25M) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).

The funding comes after Army National Guard States, which make up 45 percent of the U.S. Army’s combat divisions, requested GE-25Ms to make ARNG Divisions Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) capable, deployable, and better able to team with newly formed Division Artillery Brigades (DIVARTY). They will also be available to support domestic missions, such as homeland defense and disaster response, as needed.

“The GE-25M UAS is a very versatile aircraft,” said GA-ASI Vice President of DoD Strategic Development Patrick Shortsleeve. “Gray Eagle is a valuable tool that gives the ARNG capabilities that match the organizational and doctrinal Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition (RSTA) requirements of active Army divisions with up to 40 hours of continuous flight.”

GE-25M is equipped with the new Eagle-Eye multi-mode radar and electro-optical/infrared sensors, and can host a wide range of additional kinetic and non-kinetic payloads. Equipping ARNG Divisions with organic GE-25Ms makes possible the necessary mission planning, targeting, communications, detailed coordination, and realistic training needed to employ the systems successfully in combat. GE-25M will allow ARNG Divisions to have Divisional ISR for the first time.

The Gray Eagle UAS has a proven record of performance with millions of hours of safe operations, including automatic takeoff and landing capability. The aircraft excels as an enabler for Fires, Maneuver, Network, and Intelligence operations. It is also an integral part of the Army Aviation team, working closely with manned rotary-wing systems to achieve overmatch against pacing threats.

Delivery of GE-25M capability to the ARNG will deepen the skill and experience of the whole force. Not only will the aircraft enhance the lethality of the United States’ strategic reserve, but it will also spread the operational burden more broadly. ARNG Gray Eagle companies will be able to deploy to operational theaters and conflicts where, to date, only Regular Army Gray Eagle units have been supporting deployments.

NSSF Files Challenge Against Washington Gun Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, filed a lawsuit against Washington’s Attorney General Robert Ferguson and John Batiste, Chief of Washington State Patrol, seeking declaratory and injunctive relief from state authorities enforcing HB 1240, the law that bans the sale and transfer of Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) and many other firearms. The lawsuit was filed within hours of Gov. Jay Inslee’s signature by Clement & Murphy, PLLC.

NSSF, along with other plaintiffs, is challenging Washington’s MSR ban, demonstrating that it violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendment. The U.S. Supreme Court held in Heller that the Second Amendment protects the rights to keep and bear arms “typically possessed by law-abiding citizens for lawful purposes.” There are over 24.4 million MSRs in circulation today, more than there are Ford F-150s on America’s roads.

“NSSF will not stand idly by as politicians cleave away fundamental Constitutional rights from Americans,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “The right to keep and bear arms that are commonly owned belongs to law-abiding citizens. Politicians in Washington exceed their authority when they usurp those rights to mollify radical special-interest groups. These politicians violate their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution and the rights of the citizens they represent.”

A recent Monmouth poll showed national support for “assault weapons” bans continues to drop. More Americans oppose banning MSRs than those supporting a ban. Just 46 percent of Americans support such a ban, while 49 percent said they would oppose a ban. That is a nine point drop in less than a year when the same poll was conducted in June 2022, following the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas.

NSSF is joined in the suit by Amanda Banta, a 2012 Olympian for Team USA and 10-year member of the U.S. Rifle Team and resident of Spokane, Wash. NSSF is also joined by NSSF-member company Sharp Shooting Indoor Range & Gun Shop, Inc., of Spokane, which accounts among its MSR customers the Kitsap County Sheriffs Office. The Range, LLC, of Yakima, Wash., also joined the suit, along with Aero Precision, LLC, a firearm manufacturer, in Tacoma, Wash., also an NSSF member company.

The simple, effective engineering in this single-stage press gives reloaders complete control, dependably enabling the precision and consistency demanded. The uniquely angled, solid cast frame is designed to ensure perfect die and shell holder alignment and allow reloaders to see and access the cartridge throughout the process. The frame is guaranteed never to break or fail.

The Lock-N-Load® Quick-Change Bushing System lets reloaders swap out dies in seconds, enabling quick and easy caliber changes when reloading cartridges for multiple firearms. Set the die and tighten the Sure-Loc™ ring onto the Lock-N-Load® bushing with a single twist. The six locking lugs on the die and press bushings hold dies in stable, secure alignment. A rubber O-ring on the die bushings gives reloaders a better feel when the die is inserted, holding it tight against the locking lugs to prevent accidental loosening. To change calibers, twist the die counterclockwise, remove it, and insert the next preset Lock-N-Load® die and bushing. Because they remain locked in their Lock-N-Load® bushings, dies will remain exactly as they were set.

Leverage, consistently applied, ensures proper bullet and primer seating. The Lock-N-Load Classic’s solid steel arm rotates on a steel pin running completely through the frame. The long arm gets a boost from the Power-Pac Linkage, multiplying the leverage and reducing operator fatigue. The ergonomic, large, ball-style grip also reduces effort while improving comfort.

Removing and replacing spent primers is a breeze, much easier than the process associated with old-style primer arms. The spent primer ejects at the top of the stroke. Then add a new primer to the Positive Priming System™, which self-aligns to feed, and insert the primer at the bottom of the stroke where leverage is best. The self-aligning primer arm allows easy manual primer insertion without raising the handle. All the work is done at the bottom of the stroke. Small and large punches are included.

A valuable optional item (sold separately) is Hornady Automatic Primer Feed, which pairs large or small primer tubes with the Positive Priming System, resulting in a “hands-off” process with no more stiff-fingered fumbling with primers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, praised Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte for signing the Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination (FIND) Act. The law, HB 356, prohibits state agencies from entering into contracts with corporate banks that discriminate against the firearm industry. Gov. Gianforte signed the law at Noreen Firearms in Belgrade, Mont.

Montana’s FIND Act will prevent “woke” corporate banks with discriminatory policies against firearm industry members from collecting taxpayer dollars through state contracts. Montanans will choose to do business with those companies that do not discriminate based on an industry these corporate banks may not like or with which they disagree.

“Montana is planting the flag in the ground to say Second Amendment rights are not for sale to ‘woke’ Wall Street corporate banks,” said Lawrence G. Keane, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for NSSF. “Montana’s tax dollars will be protected from being used to fund efforts by these corporate banks that benefit from state contracts while denying essential services to firearm-related business simply because they are politically-disfavored by Wall Street. Governor Gianforte’s signature makes clear that Montanans won’t bend to corporate pressure and discrimination to diminish Second Amendment rights.”

Montana’s FIND Act will require corporate banks and financial service providers seeking contracts valued at $100,000 or greater with Montana and its municipalities to certify that they hold no discriminatory policies against firearm industry businesses. Contracts that are certified and later discovered to be out of compliance with the law will be subject to cancellation.

NSSF Welcomes Bipartisan U.S. House FFL Protection Act Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, welcomes the bipartisan introduction of the Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) Protection Act, H.R. 2620, introduced by U.S. Reps. John Rutherford (R-Fla.) and Henry Cuellar (D-Texas). The bipartisan bill would strengthen and enhance criminal penalties for thefts of firearms from federally licensed firearm retailers. This legislation sends a strong message to those violent criminals engaging in these illicit activities and helps provide for safer communities, assists law enforcement and protects the livelihoods of firearm retailers.

“This bipartisan legislation is what true gun safety looks like. Congress is sending a clear message that the safety of our communities is nonnegotiable and targeting firearm retailers to steal guns in order to commit further crimes is intolerable,” said Lawrence G. Keane, Senior Vice President and General Counsel for NSSF. “The firearm industry is grateful to Congressmen Rutherford and Cuellar for reaching across the aisle to provide those firearm retailers who follow the law the protection they deserve. This legislation assigns the responsibility for crime where it belongs – with the criminal. These are real solutions that make our communities safer.”

The Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) Protection Act builds on the efforts NSSF has taken to address robbery and burglary of firearms through the partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on Operation Secure Store®, one of several Real Solutions. Safer Communities.® firearm industry safety initiatives. As part of Operation Secure Store, NSSF matches ATF reward offers for information regarding these crimes that leads to the arrest and conviction of the criminals responsible and the recovery of the stolen firearms. Additionally, NSSF helps educate firearm retailers on steps they can take to reduce the chance guns will be stolen from them during a burglary or robbery, and in cooperation with ATF, conducts retailer store security seminars, assists retailers with store security audits of their premises and endorses and promotes the use of security products like smash resistant display cases.

ATF Director Dettelbach testified before Congress on the longstanding Operation Secure Store partnership with NSSF. ATF data has shown Operation Secure Store is working. Firearm retailer burglaries in 2021 were 277, compared to 577 in 2017 and 2,936 firearms were stolen in 2021 from firearm retailers, a 65 percent drop from the 7,841 firearms stolen from retailers in 2017.

Introducing New SAUER 100 Rifles Featuring H-S Precision Stocks

San Antonio, Texas (April 25, 2023) – J.P. Sauer and Sohn is pleased to introduce the new SAUER 100 LWT(lightweight) and Pantera XT rifles with H-S Precision® stocks. These are the first SAUER rifles available with the technically advanced American-made H-S Precision stock featuring a 7075-aluminum bedding block with Kevlar, fiberglass, and carbon material for strength and lightweight structure.

The LWT and Pantera XT are designed for precision hunters and shooters. Accurate, rugged, and reliable, these SAUER 100 rifles deliver a guaranteed five-shot, sub-MOA performance. Featuring a famously smooth SAUER bolt, adjustable single-stage trigger (from 2.2 – 4.2 lbs.), five-round detachable double-stack magazine, three-position safety, and cold hammer-forged German steel barrel, the S100 raises the standard for entry-level rifles.

“We have paired German performance with American innovation in these new SAUER 100 models to offer hunters and shooters the best of both worlds when it comes to precision, accuracy, and ergonomics,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group.

The SAUER 100 LWT H-S Precision rifle features a cerakoted barrel that is fluted and threaded. Barrel length is 22” for standard calibers and 24” for the magnum. The total weight of the rifle is 7 lbs. for standard calibers and 7.2 lbs. for the magnum.

The SAUER Pantera XT features a semi-weight barrel that is fluted, black cerakoted, and threaded. Barrel length is 20″ for standard calibers and 22″ in the magnum – an ideal, compact setup when using suppression. Total weight is 7 lbs. – 7.2 lbs. All S100s take Remington M700 Long Action bases.
