Latest “Partner with a Payer” Video Highlights Osprey Restoration in New Jersey

NSSF, USFWS, Henry Repeating Arms and NJ Fish & Wildlife Showcase Osprey Population and Restoration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, in partnership with Henry Repeating Arms and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Division of Fish & Wildlife, has released another film in the “Partner with a Payer®” series. Each video continues to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation and management. In the “Osprey Restoration: An American Success Story” video, viewers see what is being done to revitalize and improve wildlife habitat and resources for osprey in the United States.

Companies including firearm and ammunition manufacturers and importers fund these conservation efforts by paying excise taxes established by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act (known as the Pittman-Robertson Act). More than $16.4 billion (over $25 billion when adjusted for inflation) have been contributed and distributed to individual states to allocate funds toward wildlife conservation, hunter-education programs and target shooting programs.

“Forty to fifty years ago, ospreys were a rare species in New Jersey. The help and funding of the Pittman-Robertson Act, along with this U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) initiative, has made the work of wildlife conservation, habitat management and public resources possible,” said Kathy Clark, Acting Chief of the endangered species program, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Division of Fish & Wildlife. “Because of the funds received, everyone is benefiting. Not only the targeted, once-endangered species like the osprey, but people using public land for hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities, and the companies who pay the excise taxes. Everyone is contributing to preserving access to the outdoors, along with wildlife and their habitats, for many years to come.”

Representatives from Henry Repeating Arms, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Division of Fish & Wildlife and USFWS came together to survey and band the current osprey population in the Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area. This gathering allowed everyone in attendance to witness firsthand what the revenue from the excise taxes is used for and celebrate the long-standing partnership of industry and agencies. Due to the steady funding received, osprey nests in New Jersey have increased from only 50 to over 700 nests.

“It’s been a wonderful experience and provides a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that our company not only helps fund projects like these, but our team was able to see the excise tax dollars at work,” said Dan Clayton-Luce, Vice President of Communications, Henry Repeating Arms. “Here at Henry, we support efforts that are important to wildlife conservation, preserving and promoting shooting sports traditions, education and advocacy within the industry. If we aren’t active participants or supporting these initiatives, current and future generations won’t have access to all the wonderful aspects of the outdoors. Being able to get involved with the New Jersey Fish & Wildlife’s Osprey project is just one of the many ways we, as manufacturers, are able to truly make a difference in the world around us.”

Henry Repeating Arms has directly contributed to the funding of osprey restoration through their contribution to the excise tax. During the visit, a hands-on approach was used to incorporate Henry representatives in the osprey restoration and banding efforts for continued wildlife conservation and management.

RAFAEL Australia (RAFAEL) has finalized a substantial acquisition contract with the Australian Government to provide the Australian Defense Force (ADF) with the next generation of Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) systems; RAFAEL’s SPIKE LR2 Anti-Tank Guided Missile.

This is the ADF’s first GWEO acquisition under the leadership of inaugural Chief of the GWEO Group, Air Marshal Leon Phillips OAM, and represents a significant investment in Australia’s defense and deterrence capabilities. This acquisition will support the Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle capability being delivered under Project LAND 400 Phase 2.

The Hyper Raptor is not only exceptionally fast but proves to be tack-driving accurate. Barnett’s new Halo System eliminates cable crossing and cam lean to create perfectly balanced string travel for superior accuracy. Additionally, arrows are held secure with Barnett’s Soft Lok™ Floating Bristle Arrow Retainer System and CNC machined aluminum flight track provides consistency shot after shot.

The Hyper Raptor utilizes a metal-injected molded trigger and TriggerTech™ Frictionless Release Technology (a $200 value). The TriggerTech trigger features a reliable, crisp, 3-pound pull for consistent shots and improved accuracy. This is another example of how Barnett leads the industry in innovation and value. An Anti-Dry Fire (ADF) system and a nock sensor are added to ensure the crossbow is loaded correctly. Additionally, the new Rope Hold Roller Ball technology keeps the RCD rope in place as you attach hooks to string for more consistent cocking. The Hyper Raptor is also offered in a pre-installed CCD format to ensure all hunters can use this innovative crossbow at their preference.

Comfort and customization add the finishing touches to the Hyper Raptor. An IP67 waterproof rating means the SCS-VP9 optic is ready for all wet weather, with a 0.77×0.58 inch optical window that remains compact enough for carry while offering exceptional space for fast target acquisition.

NETHERLANDS INCREASES ORDER OF MQ-9A FROM GA-ASI

RNLAF Doubles Order from 4 to 8 Aircraft

SAN DIEGO – 21 August 2023 – The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) will double the number of MQ-9A Remotely Piloted Aircraft they will procure, taking the total order from four to eight aircraft. The first four MQ-9A Block 5 Reapers and associated Ground Control Stations were delivered to the RNLAF in 2022. MQ-9A is designed and developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI).

“We are doubling the number of MQ-9A Reapers so we can increase our maritime and overland intelligence, reconnaissance, surveillance (ISR) capacity,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Jan Ruedisueli, commander of the RNLAF’s 306 squadron that operate the new MQ-9A Reapers. “The MQ-9As will receive external pods for Electronic Intelligence, a communications relay, a Maritime Radar, and also be armed in the future.”

The delivery of the MQ-9As, their Ground Control Stations, and support equipment is part of a USAF Foreign Military Sale to the RNLAF.

“We’re thrilled that the first set of Dutch Reapers have made such a positive impact on the RNLAF,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “With this new set of capabilities, the Netherlands will have the most capable set of MQ-9 Block 5 aircraft in the world. They have customized the Dutch MQ-9As to meet the Netherlands’ expanding mission set.”

MQ-9A Block 5 has endurance of up to 27 hours, is capable of speeds up to 240 KTAS and can operate up to 40,000 feet. It has a 3,850-pound (1,746-kilogram) payload capacity that includes 3,000 pounds (1,361 kilograms) of external stores. It provides a long-endurance, persistent surveillance capability with Full-Motion Video and Synthetic Aperture Radar/Moving Target Indicator/Maritime Radar. An extremely reliable aircraft, MQ-9A Block 5 is equipped with a fault-tolerant flight control system and triple redundant avionics system architecture. It is engineered to meet and exceed manned aircraft reliability standards.

The Korte Classic

The Korte Classic takes the revolver game to an all-new level. Korte is known for building world class revolvers in Germany since 1954. Like the whole Korte lineup, the Classics contain all fully machined parts, hand fit by one gunsmith, and features the world-renowned Korte roller trigger system.
The Korte Classics come in a variety of barrel lengths, finishes, and calibers. This is the revolver of revolvers, and also very limited in supply. It is available in .357 Magnum or .44 Magnum, depending on how it’s configured.
The Classic comes in four different DLC/PVD finishes: Mystic Grey, Black, Blue, and Bronze. The revolver comes fully high polished with gold accents and a Korte medallion for a classy yet gorgeous look. The front sight is a 14K gold bead, making target acquisition a breeze, while paired with a fully adjustable rear sight. The Classic comes with a wood display box.

The Korte Vintage

The Korte Vintage is the ultimate addition to any revolver collection. This revolver features the incredibly classy color-case hardened frame. The unique barrel shroud and cylinder have been high polished and charcoal blued to offer a contrast with the color case hardened frame. This model is available with either a 4″ or 6″ barrel.
The Korte Vintage features a 6-shot .357 Magnum cylinder. The trigger, hammer and all parts have been high polished. A fully adjustable rear sight pairs with a 14k gold bead front sight for excellent target acquisition and aesthetics. This unique revolver sports carved grips from Turkish Walnut, creating a classy look with a comfortable feel. A Korte Medallion is the perfect finishing touch that finishes the look.
