Military vehicles face a variety of challenges in the field. The missions are characterized by demanding environmental conditions as well as extreme weather conditions. Impassable terrain, different soil conditions, but also heat, cold, precipitation and dust must not impair performance. In addition, it must be possible for military units to network with each other. This requires the transmission of even higher data rates. Depending on the application and transmission distances, the use of optical fibers is unavoidable.

Complexity requires a multi-product solution for connectors

The requirements for the transmission of current, high voltage, data technology or fiber optics are so different that they usually cannot be integrated into one connector. Therefore, a multi-product solution is sought. ODU offers the advantage of a one-stop-shop. Standard cable assemblies are offered for various data technology protocols: USB, HDMI, Displayport or coax connector. Often, the connected subsystem is crucial. For this reason, for example does a reconnaissance device or other optotronics require high-frequency connectors that ensure connection to printed circuit boards. On the other hand, a HUB in the vehicle ensures data exchange via an Ethernet hub.

ODU-MAC® modular connector enables single-product solution

Nevertheless, there are applications that prefer a single-product solution. For example, in one of the most widely used Main Batteltank Systems (MBT), ODU products of the ODU-MAC® series (modular connectors) are used. Various modules from power transmission to data technology can be used, all of which are integrated into one interface. In this special case, the modular connector transmits both: the supply voltages for a central electronic unit and the switching and control signals for the entire tower system.

This event is to honor the heroic actions of Task Force Ranger and raise money for the Three Rangers Foundation, an organization that supports active duty and former Rangers, their families, and Ranger Gold Star Families from the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, to include Veterans of affiliated supporting units.

SAN DIEGO – 21 September 2023 – The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) presented the 2022 Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Squadron of the Year Award to the 2nd Special Operations Squadron (SOS) at a special ceremony at the Air Force Association’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference on Sept. 11, 2023. The award is given annually to the Squadron that distinguishes itself through its employment of RPA in meritorious service.

The 2022 award was presented by Lt. Gen. Jim Slife, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations for the U.S. Air Force; GA-ASI President David R. Alexander; and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) David A. Deptula, the Dean of the Mitchell Institute.

The 2nd SOS, known as the Scorpions, are based out of Hurlburt Field, Florida. The Scorpions flew over 16,000 hours throughout 2022 in support of Operation ENDURING SENTINEL, Operation OCTAVE SHIELD, and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. The Squadron also paved the way for satellite launch and recovery operations during Emerald Flag, and they demonstrated Reaper Agile Combat Employment. The Scorpions accelerated progress towards realizing the Department of the Air Force’s future concepts of operation for unmanned systems in the 2020s and beyond.

“I was thrilled to present the award to the Scorpions for their extraordinary use of MQ-9A Reapers in the defense of our country,” said Alexander. “They expanded their use of Reapers and demonstrated how capabilities like Automatic Takeoff and Landing could be effectively executed from home units within the U.S. to anywhere in the world using satellite beyond-line-of-sight connectivity.”

The 2nd SOS flew demonstrations both in Large Force Exercises, including the first time an MQ-9A conducted Agile Combat Employment as part of Emerald Flag 2022, and they also employed these procedures in combat environments for the first time in two different classified areas of responsibility (AOR). They developed and trained instructors that shared this knowledge with other squadrons and aircrew within the MQ-9A enterprise.

Making a Point on the Most Reliable 22LR Pistol

Richmond Hill, GA (September 21, 2023) – .22LR Pistols are easily the most affordable to shoot and worthwhile purchases for those training or even the survivalist-minded. Ruger has long produced one of the most popular .22lr semi-automatic pistols to ever hit the market. Their Ruger MK I-III was not only popular but saw a lot of industry competition as development advanced. As time passed and pistols developed to become easier to field strip, Ruger took the platform and made a new MK variant that could easily break down to be cleaned: the MK IV.

While the MK IV came in a wide range of grip styles, that didn’t detract from the versatility and utility of the firearm. With many models of the RUGER MK IV coming standard with a rail system, users could add optics that mounted via Weaver or Picatinny mounting systems. This made it possible for a user to become more accurate or comfortable with the system, but the reality is that most pistol red dots don’t have this mounting system.

C&H Weapons Systems is releasing an entire line of MKIV mounting plates, which replace the factory rail and can be adapted for a near custom and solid fitment of various red dot optics designed exclusively for pistol use. C&H plates are mounted to the receiver via two screws to align with the factory mount placements. There is no adverse effect on irons installed, and it allows for a shooter to co-witness or increase height with factory optic risers for adapting to suppressor use.

In the first release, scheduled for shipping to begin around September 10th, 2023, three plate footprints will be available for purchase. They will be Lite to Holosun (Holosun 407K / 507K / C&H EDC), Lite to Trijicon (Trijicon RMR / SRO / Holosun 407C / 507C / 508T / C&H EDC-XL / COMP), or Lite to Aimpoint (Aimpoint ACRO / C&H DUTY) and is the only mount to have a railed section.

EAGLEVILLE, PA, September 19, 2023 – Streamlight®, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, launched the new SpeedLocker®, a portable storage container with a secure, non-electronic keypad locking system that provides fast, one-handed direct access to valuable items at home or on the go without the need for batteries or a power source.

Measuring 12.4 inches long, 8.2 inches wide and 2.78 inches high, the lightweight container is designed to carry a variety of items that require safe, secure storage, including various compact firearm models. The container’s foam insert helps to protect and secure stored items.

“Streamlight developed this portable storage container to help ensure that customers’ personal items are protected and out of reach from unauthorized persons, while still providing fast, one-handed access,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight’s Chief Revenue Officer. “It securely stores personal items, such as a wallet, car keys, travel documents, or compact pistols.”

The SpeedLocker’s patented mechanical keypad provides for 31 lock combinations, and comes with an Allen key to change the combination.The container is air-travel suitable when used with the supplied padlock. It also comes with a front name plate that can be personalized for ownership identification.

The SpeedLocker’s rugged hard shell is made of high-impact polymer and features a convenient folding carry handle. Its internal dimensions are 8.0 inches long by 7.1 inches wide, allowing for the storage of various compact firearms and other items. It weighs 2.6 pounds without contents, is water resistant, and comes with mounting holes to secure the box to rigid surfaces such as lockers, toolboxes or a vehicle center console.

The SpeedLocker comes with an Allen key and an accessory padlock with keys. It also includes Streamlight’s Lifetime Warranty. The MSRP is $165.00.
