Mission94 Firearms Education Center Recognized as NSSF Five-Star Range

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, has awarded Mission94 Firearms Education Center with its coveted Five-Star rating for range excellence. Five stars is the highest rating in NSSF’s star-rating system, which evaluates shooting facilities based on appearance, management, shooting sports development and amenities.

Located in Kenosha, Wis., Mission94 opened in October 2024 and has quickly grown into a leader in its community with a strong emphasis on responsible firearm ownership through training and education, while also exploring the unique history behind firearms and the Second Amendment.

Mission94 is outfitted with two state-of-the-art training bays. A 25-yard training bay (10 lanes) features a target carrier system able to send out targets to varying distances and includes pre-programmed drills for training. Each lane in this bay is equipped with a camera system, enabling range guests to view a zoomed-in display of shot placements. The display also has a color-coding ability to distinguish between different arms or shooters using the same target. The 50-yard training bay has five lanes and a customizable target carrier system. Each bay is outfitted with a comprehensive HVAC system, delivering cleaner air than what range guests would breathe outside.

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins Will Speak at SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall

LAS VEGAS — NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, will present for the first time a general session on suicide prevention at its annual trade show — the SHOT Show — in Las Vegas this month. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins will deliver opening remarks at the session.

Secretary Collins will be followed by a panel of suicide prevention and industry experts, including NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi, who will focus on how the firearm-owning community can help reduce suicide deaths, particularly those involving a firearm.

The SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall will take place on Thursday, January 22, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. local time. Anyone who is registered for the SHOT Show and has interest in helping to prevent suicide is welcome to attend this session. Those already registered for SHOT Show can add the suicide prevention session to their schedule by emailing regmgr@shotshow.org. Those who have not yet registered for the show can add the session when making their registration.

“NSSF is honored to have Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins provide the keynote address at the first SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall,” said Bartozzi. “Addressing suicide prevention, especially suicide involving firearms, is a priority for NSSF. Our community has a role to play in saving lives.”

For nearly a decade, NSSF has been working to help reduce suicide deaths among veterans and non-veterans. Yearly, more than 50 percent of U.S. suicide deaths are by self-inflicted firearm injury, and that number rises to 74 percent among veterans. There is hope, however, in knowing that suicide is preventable, and that trusted messengers — like individuals and companies in the firearm community — can inform gun owners and their families how to help loved ones who are at risk.

To heighten awareness about suicide prevention in the firearm-owning community and beyond, NSSF has collaborated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and developed resources to equip individuals and organizations with knowledge to save lives. The NSSF-AFSP suicide prevention toolkit for firearm retailers and shooting ranges is at the core of the NSSF-AFSP “Have a Brave Conversation” suicide prevention program.

The panel of suicide prevention and industry experts will cover how industry and the firearm-owning community can deliver messaging to equip individuals to save lives. These messages can cover knowing about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Veterans Crisis Line (call 988 and press 1) to understanding the warning signs of suicide to knowing how to have a “brave conversation” with someone you’re concerned about.

The panelists will be Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO and Chairman of the Project ChildSafe Foundation; Jacquelyn Clark, co-owner of Bristlecone Shooting, Training and Retail Center and a member of the NSSF Board of Governors; Dr. Emmy Betz, MD, MPH, Professor, Emergency Medicine, Univ. of Colorado Anschutz; Dr. Chris Barsotti, MD, Emergency Physician, Berkshire Medical Center; and Michael Sodini, President, Walk the Talk America. Bill Brassard, NSSF Senior Director, Communications, who oversees NSSF’s suicide prevention efforts, will moderate.

Organizations responsible for logistics, infrastructure, and critical facilities are increasingly required to inspect, map, and monitor enormous areas — sometimes hazardous or inaccessible — without relying on large human teams. Existing ground robots often struggle to combine stability, environmental awareness, and long operational range, leaving a technological gap that limits wider deployment of autonomous systems.

The newly introduced D5 robot, unveiled at the iREX exhibition in Tokyo, is designed to close that gap. Standing nearly one meter tall, the quadruped combines legged mobility with a wheeled mode, allowing it to move confidently on stairs and uneven surfaces while still maintaining efficient travel across open floors and long corridors. Its dual-processor architecture, based on NVIDIA Orin and RK3588, delivers roughly 275 TOPS of computing power dedicated to real-time SLAM, obstacle avoidance, object recognition, and navigation without operator input.

According to Interesting Engineering, one of the system’s most notable capabilities is its ability to map and autonomously navigate areas of up to one million square meters — the scale of industrial zones, warehouses, or multi-site facilities — and conduct continual inspection routes of up to 14 kms. The perception suite combines four 120° fisheye cameras for full 360° coverage with high-resolution front and rear LiDAR units that generate dense 3D point clouds, giving the robot a detailed spatial understanding of its surroundings.

Durability is central to the design: the robot uses a reinforced aluminum structure, closed-loop torque control, and can carry up to 30 kilograms for over two hours. It is also IP67-rated and built to operate in temperatures ranging from –20°C to 55°C, enabling deployment in harsh outdoor or industrial environments.

Although introduced in a civilian robotics context, the robot’s capabilities align closely with emerging security and defense needs. Autonomous ground platforms with long-range endurance, advanced sensing, and safe navigation can support perimeter monitoring, patrols in hazardous zones, inspection of sensitive infrastructure, and ground-level intelligence collection — tasks that traditionally require significant manpower.

The robot illustrates a broader shift in robotics toward versatile, terrain-capable platforms supported by stronger on-board computing and perception. These developments are gradually expanding the range of missions in which autonomy can reliably replace or augment human operators.

The 25 RPM is capable of pushing a 133 gr Berger at 3,000 feet per second, delivering flatter trajectories, higher retained energy, and superior downrange performance compared to legacy quarter-bore cartridges. When compared to popular alternatives like the 25 Creedmoor, 25-06, and 257 Roberts, the 25 RPM offers a clear ballistic advantage.

TUO introduces new camouflage pattern that connects Midwestern landscapes with western elevations to dominate the whitetail wilderness

MUSKEGON, Mich. (January 8, 2026) – TUO launched its proprietary Verse camo pattern in 2024. The texture-based disruption leaned into western big game hunting environments with its slightly warmer palette, to be effective on those sunlit days, combined with strong hints of greens and amber. While the supplemental light tans and sharp lines render effectiveness in wooded environments as well, TUO wanted to offer a second exclusive pattern for the brand’s growing legion of whitetail deer hunters.

Thus, the birth of Ryse.

Typically, woodlands and the edges of agricultural properties feature greater stark contrasts than classical western terrain. This reality summoned a slightly cooler color palette, compared to Verse, with bright and heavy greys and darker browns.

TUO Marketing Director, Steve Allie, further riffed about Ryse’s whitetail-dominated coloration. “We also included some greens and yellows to represent trees and brush that might still be holding onto some foliage, which is common in the whitetail woods during early season.”

Ryse’s macro elements are substantial, too. “There are big objects in whitetail country as well,” added Allie. “So, Ryse includes substantial contrasts of larger light and dark objects, which are then broken up with vertical and horizontal lines.”

Macros are the large-scale shapes and color blocks in Ryse that break up the overall outline of the body at distance, so you don’t appear a single solid shape. Macros dominate at 20-yards and farther as the micro patterns begin to disappear.

Micro pattern elements are the fine, small-scale details and texture that help you blend in and avoid recognition at close range. In Ryse, micro elements are exemplified by the erratic vertical, horizontal, and diagonal cracks and crevices that splinter amongst the large macro elements.

Throughout, Ryse includes 3D elements, including beveling, as well as shadows to imitate depth against any surface you may encounter. Beveling delivers greater depth, texture, and blending.

Allie summarized by saying that Ryse certainly pulls some DNA from TUO’s original Verse camo, but lives as a signature pattern for anywhere you pursue whitetail deer.

Among the featured products will be the U.S. Cavalry “Buffalo Soldier” Model, a new offering that exemplifies Cimarron’s uncompromising commitment to authenticity through meticulous historical research. It is inspired by the exceedingly rare 1^st Generation Colt Single-Action Army pistols inspected by U.S. Ordnance Department Principal Sub-Inspector in Charge Henry Nettleton. Cimarron has gone above and beyond to faithfully recreate the original Colt Single-Action Cavalry Model, incorporating Nettleton’s distinctive inspection initials using the exact fonts, placements, and proof marks found on the originals.

Chambered in .45 Colt, the Henry Nettleton Cavalry model features a 7 ½-inch barrel, standard blue finish, and walnut grips. What sets this firearm apart is its extraordinary historical accuracy. In 1878, Nettleton inspected and stamped approximately 3,000 pistols, uniquely placing his inspection marks on the left side of the hammer and trigger guard, an anomaly among U.S. Ordnance inspectors that remains unexplained to this day. Cimarron’s recreation pays tribute to these scarce government-issued firearms, preserving the defining details that made them the weapon of choice for U.S. Cavalry troops.
