On my way to a meeting, I made a quick stop at Magpul’s exhibit specifically to check out their steel P320 magazine. The new AMAG 17 SG9. This is a 17-round SIG P320 9mm handgun magazine featuring a heat-treated, stainless-steel alloy body with polymer sub-components. An excellent companion to the Big Iron Belt Holster, the SB24 features Galco’s Center post buckle design and double rows of stitching.

The Center Post buckle is a design within our Flat Back Belt Collection. The open-architecture buckle is investment cast in our in-house foundry. Its unique post-style attachment allows it to lie flat for a neat and crisp appearance. The buckle is solid brass on tan belts, nickel-plated solid brass on black belts.

The Flat Back name is derived from how flat the belt sits when worn, compared to traditional mechanical or plate buckle belts. Traditional belts require the leather strap to be wrapped around the buckle attachment point, creating three belt layers when worn, versus only two layers with the Flat Back Belt design.

The belt strap is constructed of two layers of steerhide with a double row of stitching. Seven holes spaced 1″ apart allow a broad range of fit and adjustment.

Available in tan with a solid brass buckle, or black with a nickel-plated solid brass buckle.

One of the issues that discourage shooters from dry fire practice is the fact that every time you press the trigger you need to rack the slide to reset the trigger, well those days are gone and now you can dry fire until you drop without ever having to rack your slide. The Strike Modular Chassis (SMC) – BRAVO for SIG Sauer P320 by Strike Industries is a new lite version of the MOST MODULAR P320 (SMC Alpha) Chassis in the WORLD at a fraction of the Alpha’s price. Customer feedback was heavily weighed and taken into consideration when we developed this chassis so when we say the Bravo was made with the user in mind, we mean it.

The new SMC Bravo is made of Polymer Extreme™ which is durable and lightweight — intended to receive P320 FCU’s and slides to complete the entire ensemble. This time around users can fully utilize their P320 optics-ready slides to effortlessly install their red dot sights! In terms of upgraded features in the Bravo, the ergonomics have improved with a textured grip which now includes a built-in flared magwell to assist with quick and smooth reloads.

Our optional Ambidextrous Side Charging Handle with a Slide Cover Mount for the P320 is also compatible so each Bravo user can decide which side they want to rack the slide with. This chassis also more universally accepting of many different types of P320 magazines. Computer based training and simulation is at its infancy and in vogue. In the coming years, that technology will see explosive growth. Why, because it makes sense!

Virtual Reality training increases proficiency by increasing the frequency of training, it is cost effective, eliminating the need for ammunition and elaborate facilities and it facilitates the creation of targeted training objects via software or AI integration. At this year’s Shot Show, I met with Noah from ACE VR to learn about the company’s system.

Using the ACE system requires three steps:

You’ll need a Meta Quest 2 or 3 VR Headset. Ace is compatible with both, which are the most common and affordable on the market today.
You’ll need buy an Ace Club Membership. The Ace Club Membership gets your Ace Arctus Handset and access to the Ace VR App.

Pot of Gold Estate Auctions is donating proceeds from their online auction to WTTA to help fund the organization’s important work of bridging the gap between mental health and responsible firearm owners.

Las Vegas, Nev. (February 2024) – Walk The Talk America (WTTA), a non-profit organization bridging the gap between mental health and responsible firearm ownership, is excited to announce that Pot of Gold Estate Auctions has chosen them for a charity auction. The Firearms Fundraiser Auction is open now and will close on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at 5 pm MST. Apart from the buyer’s premium and tax, all auction proceeds will benefit WTTA.

The online-only auction is stagger style, which means that the first lot in the auction will close at 6:00 pm MST, and each item after that will close 20 seconds later. It also has a soft close feature; if an item gets a bid right before closing, the bidding will reopen for one more minute to allow for other bids.

There are 39 items, including semi-auto rifles, pistols, shotguns, targets, bags, hats, ear pro, bottles, and clay pigeon launchers. These items were donated by Ruger, Glock, Sig Saur, Armscor (Rock Island Armory), Bersa, Talon, Hi-Point (MKS Supply), POF, Canick, Keltec, Tristar, and Savage via Camfour (Distributor). Custom, one-of-a-kind Walk the Talk America guns were provided by Ruger, Glock, and Avidity Arms.

This year’s SHOT Show brought renewed vigor to the firearms and outdoor industry with more than 55,400 industry professionals attending the four-day show. LBM reached out to their exhibiting clients to see how the show was for them, and get a feel for the future of the industry.

Caracal USA®, a leading US-based manufacturer of small arms for the law enforcement and defense markets, displayed its newly available Enhanced F pistol. Designed for self-defense, concealed-carry, law enforcement, and military users, this pistol was a hit at the booth among attendees. Jeffrey Spalding, president and CEO of Caracal USA, said “We had a lot of excitement from dealers, distributors, and media alike regarding our new products for 2024, which include the CMP9 9x19mm fully ambidextrous semi-auto pistol and the CSR 308 and 338 long-range precision sniper rifles. We are looking forward to fulfilling orders upon return from the show.” Caracal also displayed the new Caracal Lynx DS, a 2011-style pistol, the Lynx DS Compact, and the Lynx DS Versus™ designed for competition use.

Offering a little change of pace for the modern gun buyer was Cimarron Firearms. Attendees walked into another century upon entering its booth, where beautifully crafted replicas of America’s Old West Firearms were on display. Featuring an array of rifles and pistols, including the new 1894 Trapper Lever Action Rifle, Cimarron Firearms continues to draw in new customers with quality products that perform as well as they look.

What was old was new again at the Hydra Weaponry booth. Maine’s largest firearm employer and the designers and manufacturers of the truly modular MARCK-15® Hydra Weapon System debuted the BMP-23 during the show. This is the 5.56 pistol that Mack Gwinn Jr. would have built if he had today’s CNC machinery and technologically advanced materials.

“Our new BMP-23 pistol and the new .308 rifles were a hit at the show. SHOT Show was upbeat and the new Hydra products were very popular and drew lots of attention to our booth. Our ‘retro’ BMP-23 was like a magnet for the media and dealers! Thank you to all of the media, dealers, and distributors who came by our booth to see our products,” commented Hydra Weaponry’s VP of Sales and Marketing Mark Eliason.

RETAY USA, the North American sales and distribution for RETAY ARMS, had an exciting SHOT Show. “It was great to see everybody at the SHOT Show this year. We had some surprises that we unveiled at the show for 2024, along with our entire lineup, on display. It was a very successful show for us and we look forward to continuing discussions with our partners post-show,” commented Jesse Highling, vice president of business development for RETAY Shotguns. One of the surprises announced at the SHOT Show was the availability of the Mossy Oak Shadow Leaf pattern for the Gordion 12ga, Gordion 20ga, and Masai Mara 20ga. This classic look features the perfect amount of spring colors to mix right in.

Tasmanian Tiger USA, a tactical gear brand little known in the USA several years ago, has found a very successful footing among dealers, distributors, agencies, EMT units, and civilians in the past few years. Consistently rolling out mission-specific gear made to withstand battlefield conditions, Tasmanian Tiger’s packs, backpacks, medic gear, and accessories have achieved a strong following stateside. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in business this year, Tasmanian Tiger® saw a lot of interest in the TT Short and Long Range Backpacks including the new TT Base Pack 75, available this summer. The TT Medic Packs and Bags were also a hit with a lot of product demos going on in and around the booth.

Richard Lewis, President and CEO of Proforce Equipment, the exclusive distributor of Tasmanian Tiger in the US, reflected on how pleased he was with the outcome of the show. “Thank you to all who visited with Tasmanian Tiger at the recent SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It was well attended by both media and dealers. Whilst the majority we met with were from the US, there was also a good international presence from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, as well as many European countries. We experienced firsthand the growing interest and demand for Tasmanian Tiger products within our industry because of our being on display at the 2024 SHOT Show!”

The overall conclusion from the 2024 SHOT Show is that it was a unanimous success, with a more curated attendee list that contained quality dealers ready to buy.

New Mexico Anti-Gun Legislation

On February 7th, the New Mexico State Senate Judiciary Committee voted to pass House Bill 129 with amendments. The bill seeks to impose a 7-day waiting period on all firearms sales, unconstitutionally delaying law-abiding New Mexicans right to Keep and Bear Arms. Thanks to our friends at NRA-ILA, suppressors, which are already subject to extensive delays through the NFA process, have been removed from the purview of the legislation. Despite the amendments, NRA-ILA is actively working to defeat the bill, but they need your help!
