The Integrated Precision Warfare Division is currently holding elections for Vice Chair for a two-year term (March 2024 – March 2026). This key position will help guide alongside the Division Chair of the Integrated Precision Warfare Division to continued success. Voting is now open until 8 am on Monday, March 25.
Vice Chair – One position available; 2 year-term
The Vice Chair is the second leader in charge of the Division and is elected to the position. The Vice Chair is a member of the Division’s executive committee. The duties of this position include assisting the Chair in the operation of Division affairs and any other responsibilities assigned to him or her by the Chair. In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chair presides over Division meetings and functions. The Vice Chair is responsible for assisting the Division in reviewing and revising the charter and bylaws to keep the Division relevant to the international community and to ensure the Division is compliant with organizational and procedural principles emanating from NDIA.
Nominations for Vice Chair will be accepted no later than Monday, March 25 at 8:00 a.m. EST. When submitting for either yourself or for others, those nominated must be a NDIA corporate member and a bio/resume must be provided.

We hope you’re enjoying your experience with the Longshot app! We want to provide you with some tips and tricks on how to capture photos and videos using our app. It’s easier than you think!
To capture a photo, simply follow these steps:
Open the Longshot app and navigate to the camera view.
Pinch to Zoom to your desired location of the target.
Tap the orange button ONCE to capture the image.
Your photo is now saved and ready to be admired in the gallery.
For capturing videos, we’ve got you covered too. Here’s how:
- Launch the Longshot app and switch to video mode.
- Pinch to Zoom to your desired location of the target.
- Press and hold the orange button to start recording the video.
- Mark your Shots and progress as you go.
- Tap the orange button again to end the video capture process and is saved to your Longshot gallery
To access the gallery, simply return to the Home Screen on the Longshot App. From there, you can browse and relive your captured moments whenever you please.

NSSF Welcomes Sen. Joni Ernst’s ‘FIREARM’ Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, welcomes the introduction of S. 3812, the Fighting Irrational Regulatory Enforcement to Avert Retailers’ Misfortune (FIREARM) Act, by U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa). Companion legislation, H.R. 7471 under the same name, was introduced by U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.). The “FIREARM” Act would create a safe harbor for federal firearm licensees (FFLs) who are at risk of losing their licenses and livelihoods due to the Biden administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy that has weaponized the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to revoke licenses for minor unintentional clerical errors and mistakes.
“Senator Joni Ernst’s ‘FIREARM’ Act will help restore confidence that ATF will fulfill its mission as a regulatory agency over the manufacture and sale of firearms rather than being used as a political tool by special interests,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “Under the Biden administration, the firearm and ammunition industry has seen the ATF turned into a sledgehammer to carry out this administration’s extreme antigun policies. This damages the cooperative relationships between firearm retailers, who are on the frontline preventing illegal straw purchases of firearms, and the ATF, who enforces laws to safeguard our communities. NSSF is thankful for Senator Ernst’s leadership to provide remedies that repair this necessary public trust in our federal agencies.”
Specifically, the “FIREARM” Act:
· Creates a safe harbor for FFLs to self-report violations, so they can correct any accidental errors;
· Requires the ATF to work collaboratively with FFLs to fix violations and help avoid future violations;
· Addresses the “willfulness” issue by defining it to mean a voluntary, intentional violation of a known legal duty achieved through specific intent or deliberate planning, excludes previous conduct and creates a rebuttal if the conduct is not willful; and
· Allows for direct judicial review of license revocations to avoid the ATF from serving as the prosecutor, judge and jury.
President Joe Biden instituted the ATF’s “zero-tolerance” policy that puts firearm businesses at risk of losing their licenses and livelihoods for minor clerical errors that were previously corrected by ATF inspectors to assist those businesses to stay compliant and within the laws and regulations governing the firearm industry. The ATF revoked 157 licenses of FFLs in 2023, and an additional 80 firearm retailers chose to voluntarily surrender their license rather than endure the costly and painstaking process of clearing a business’s name, a pace for both of which has increased each year of this administration.
Since taking office, President Biden directed the ATF to revoke the licenses of firearm businesses for these minor clerical errors by classifying them as “willful” violations. That’s a sharp break from previous White House administrations. The Biden administration is now employing a “whole-of-government” attack on the firearm industry and Second Amendment rights of lawful and Constitutionally-protected businesses and law-abiding gun owners.

GA-ASI MAKES FIRST FLIGHT OF XQ-67A OBSS
SAN DIEGO – 29 February 2024 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) flew the XQ-67A Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) for the first time on Feb. 28, 2024. OBSS is an Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) program and GA-ASI was selected in 2021 to design, build and fly the new aircraft.
With flight of the AFRL-funded XQ-67A, GA-ASI has validated the “genus/species” concept first developed with AFRL as part of the Low-Cost Attritable Aircraft Platform Sharing (LCAAPS) program focused on building several aircraft variants from a common core chassis.
Under LCAAPS, AFRL and GA-ASI explored development of a chassis, termed a “genus”, as the foundational core architecture from which several “species” of aircraft can be built.
“This provides an alternative acquisition approach for military aircraft that enables faster development, lower costs and more opportunities for frequent technology refresh,” said Trenton White, OBSS Program Manager and aerospace engineer in AFRL’s Aerospace Systems Directorate. “XQ-67A is the first “species” to be designed and built from this shared platform. Flight demonstration of this system is a major first step toward showing the ability to produce affordable combat mass.”
“OBSS is the first aircraft type built and flown using a common core chassis developed by GA-ASI that promotes commonality across multiple vehicle types,” said GA-ASI Vice President of Advanced Programs Michael Atwood.

SAAMI Welcomes FN America to Organization
SHELTON, Conn. — The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute®, Inc., (SAAMI®), is pleased to announce that FN America, LLC, has joined SAAMI as an Associate Member. FN America is a manufacturer of firearms and is headquartered in McLean, Virginia.
“We are pleased to welcome FN America as an Associate member,” said Joe Bartozzi, SAAMI’s President & CEO. “In joining SAAMI, they become part of the premier US organization for the establishment and publication of standards for the safety, reliability and interchangeability of sporting arms and ammunition.”
As a new Associate member, FN America will have representation and voting privileges on committees and will have the ability to introduce new cartridges for SAAMI standardization. They also will have full access to SAAMI firearms and ammunition technical standards, as well as the reference ammunition program assessments. This status also lets FN America’s customers know they support the work SAAMI does for the entirety of the industry and the safety of participants of the shooting sports.
