Chiappa Unveils the New Rhino 60DS L-Frame in .44 Magnum with Three Distinct Finishes
Dayton, OH (December 12, 2025) – Chiappa Firearms will open 2026 with the introduction of a new L-Frame Rhino chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, a platform expansion that brings the Rhino’s well-known low-bore recoil characteristics into a larger, purpose-built magnum revolver.
The .44 Magnum 60DS lineup will be available in three finishes: Black, White Nickel, and Gold PVD. This expansion of the Rhino line delivers the full mechanical advantages of the updated L-Frame architecture while remaining accessible to a broad range of shooters and collectors.
Built around the Rhino’s trademark bottom-chamber firing geometry, the new .44 Magnum 60DS reduces muzzle rise and straightens recoil impulse, a decisive advantage when moving a high-pressure cartridge through a revolver platform. The enlarged L-Frame introduces updated ergonomics, including twin finger stops and a revised grip interface for improved leverage and repeatable hand placement. Despite the larger chambering, the frame maintains Chiappa’s characteristic balance between strength and weight using a 7075-T6 aluminum frame paired with a steel barrel and breech shield.
All three standard finishes share the same mechanical core and configuration. Each model uses a 6-inch barrel, fiber-optic sights (fixed front, fully adjustable rear), a double/single-action system, and a six-round cylinder. A comprehensive safety suite, comprising a cylinder block, rotation lock, and hammer block, is carried over from prior Rhino generations. Although each finish provides a distinct visual identity, the underlying platform remains a purpose-driven .44 Magnum revolver designed for stability, controllability, and repeatable performance.
The Rhino 60DS L-Frame weighs 2.92 lbs, measures 11 inches in overall length, and ships with Hogue rubber grips for improved recoil management. Each revolver is packaged in Chiappa’s hard case and includes the standard owner’s kit and Rhino sticker.

The twin filter conformal system offers low-profile protection and very low breathing resistance for military, anti-terrorism and peace-keeping operations.
Avon Protection was awarded the 10-year NSPA FM50 contract in 2020, enabling NATO nations and partners to purchase the FM50 respirator, MP-PAPR, ST53, filters and related accessories. NSSF Supports OCC Ripping Back Veil of Banking Discrimination
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is encouraged and supports the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) preliminary findings after reviewing large banks’ debanking activities. The OCC report revealed what the firearm industry has known, and experienced, for years. Large banks systematically “made inappropriate distinctions” of lawful businesses, including those against firearm-related businesses, to restrict access to banking services.
In short, large banks including JPMorgan Chase Bank, Bank of America, Citibank, Wells Fargo Bank, U.S. Bank, Capital One, PNC Bank, TD Bank and BMO Bank, unlawfully discriminated against certain industries, including the firearm industry, for political reasons. This practice is unlawful and is demonstrative of corporate banks exercising an antigun agenda to deprive, starve out and eliminate firearm businesses despite the fact they lawfully produce and sell a constitutionally-protected product to law-abiding citizens. NSSF revealed that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon was untruthful when he claimed his bank doesn’t discriminate for political reasons and has repeatedly exposed unlawful debanking activities.
“NSSF is encouraged that the Trump administration, through the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, is exercising its regulatory authority to protect industries from unlawful banking discrimination,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “Eliminating banking discrimination was a focus of the first Trump administration, which was stymied by Biden administration’s antigun agenda. We are hopeful that this preliminary report is only the beginning of ending this unscrupulous practice of weaponizing finance and ensuring banks aren’t used as to advance extremist policies that have been rejected by Congress.”
The OCC’s preliminary findings established that the firearm industry was a target of unlawful debanking, along with other industries that were politically disfavored by banks, including oil and gas exploration, coal mining and digital assets, among others.

GA-ASI’S SECOND BLUE MAGIC NETHERLANDS DOUBLES IMPACT
Nov. 18 Event in Eindhoven Highlights Innovation Across Dutch Tech Ecosystem
SAN DIEGO – 10 December 2025 – On November 18, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and its Blue Magic Netherlands (BMNL) partners held their second “shark tank” style event in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The event brought together emerging Dutch companies and attracted more than 350 attendees. BMNL provided Dutch businesses with an opportunity to present their capabilities for possible investment from GA-ASI, as well as other companies. The 16 companies that made pitches were selected from a pool of more than 70 companies that represented the best of the best of Dutch industry.
“Blue Magic uncovers new technologies within the Dutch ecosystem,” said Brad Lunn, GA-ASI Managing Director. “The quality of the innovation we’re seeing is improving rapidly. The growth of the event is a testament to the quality it brings forward.”
During the second BMNL event, held at Brainport Eindhoven — a center of the Dutch high-technology industry — GA-ASI and its partners heard firsthand from Dutch companies about the important capabilities they are developing. GA-ASI issued an open invitation to Dutch businesses in July for Netherlands-based businesses to apply for the opportunity to present their innovative technologies at BMNL. Key areas of focus for the presentations were Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Autonomy, Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Sensors, Space, and Counter-UAS.
GA-ASI was joined for the second BMNL event by the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Netherlands Ministry of Defence, Lockheed Martin, Brainport Development, Brabant Development Agency (BOM), and the Netherlands Industries for Defence & Security (NIDV).
GA-ASI expects to announce technology partnerships stemming from the second BMNL event and intends to continue holding this event on an annual basis in the Netherlands.

As drones become cheaper, smaller, and easier to modify, security teams face a growing challenge: many threats do not appear in the sky—they arrive hidden inside luggage, backpacks, or cargo. Once inside a restricted area, these components can be reassembled into functioning UAVs capable of surveillance, disruption, or targeted attacks. Traditional perimeter sensors offer no defense against a drone that is built inside the perimeter.
According to NextGenDefense, a new X-ray–based detection system aims to address that gap by identifying drone components before they enter sensitive locations. The technology integrates artificial intelligence into conventional X-ray workflows, enabling screening teams to spot assembled or disassembled UAV parts during routine inspections. Instead of requiring manual analysis, the system uses machine-learning models trained to recognize materials, shapes, and construction patterns commonly associated with consumer and custom-built drones.
The problem being solved is twofold. First, drone incidents are rising sharply—regulators have reported significant increases in illegal incursions and unauthorized flights near critical facilities. Second, attackers have begun circumventing external drone defenses by smuggling parts in pieces and rebuilding them inside restricted zones. AI-assisted X-ray screening provides a way to intercept those components long before they become airborne threats.
The system is intended for checkpoints at airports, energy facilities, defense installations, and other high-risk infrastructure. It can be added to existing X-ray stations without major workflow changes, allowing operators to receive automatic alerts when the software detects suspicious items. Because the tool identifies characteristic materials as well as known shapes, it can flag improvised or partially assembled designs that may evade manual screening.
Integrating this capability into a layered counter-drone framework adds a valuable early-warning layer. While perimeter radars, RF detectors, and jammers track drones already in flight, AI-enhanced X-ray detection focuses on preventing threats from entering the site in the first place. Together, these tools could reduce the likelihood of hostile UAVs appearing unexpectedly inside protected zones.
The system is currently being evaluated in live operational settings by multiple security agencies. Developers are also exploring interoperability with counter-UAS platforms and electronic warfare tools, paving the way for unified drone-defense architectures that span both entry-point screening and aerial detection. If successful, the technology could shift counter-drone strategies toward earlier, more proactive interdiction.
