Cody, Wyo. (April 2024) – Big Horn Armory (BHA), makers of big-bore firearms, has announced a sale in time for the Memorial Day holiday. Between May 27 – June 10, 2024, when customers purchase a BHA Model 89 Black Thunder or Model 89 White Lightning Lever Action Rifle, they will also receive a free Rhodesian Sling (a $125 value) and a discount code worth 20 percent off a Wyoming Tactical Firearms Barron 50 Caliber Suppressor. The discount code for the suppressor will be provided to the customer after the purchase of a Black Thunder or White Lightning lever action rifle. The Barron suppressor must be purchased on the Wyoming Tactical Firearms website after completion of the rifle purchase.

BHA’s first tactical lever-action rifle, the Model 89 Black Thunder is optimally sized, perfectly configured, and chambered in the powerful .500 S&W Magnum. With its short 16.25” barrel, it is a quick-handling, rapid-shooting carbine that is perfect for hunting, home defense, or survival situations. Its robust design includes stainless-steel construction, heat-treated and coated with a black nitride finish, making it nearly impervious to corrosion. Black laminate stocks add strength and additional weather resistance, as well as no-nonsense aesthetics. The Model 89BT comes from the factory with hand-crafted, quality Skinner rear aperture adjustable sights, as well as, a factory-installed Scout Scope Mount rail perfect for Scout Scopes, red dot, or holographic sights.

To maximize the Model 89BT’s capabilities, it features an M-LOK rail on the front of the forend to mount lights, laser sights, or any other accessory. This provides an option for adding low light capability for appropriate hunting situations or decisive personal defense tools if needed. It also includes an energy-absorbing one-inch Pachmayr Decelerator butt pad and a fiber optic front sight.

The Model 89 White Lightning lever action rifle in 500 S&W Magnum is the latest firearm innovation from BHA and was introduced to the market in February 2024. The grey laminate stock and forend are fitted with integral front and stud rear sling swivel mounts for a variety of sling attachments. The pistol grip buttstock utilizes a 1” Pachmayr Decelerator butt pad to tame recoil. The highly figured, grey-stained buttstock and forend are given multiple coats of a durable synthetic satin finish to withstand the elements. The wood is then glass-bedded to the metal parts, ensuring extra accuracy and durability. The standard Skinner ghost ring rear sight is mated with a green fiber optic front sight for faster target acquisition. The large hunter-friendly curved lever enables ease of operation, even with gloved hands.

The receivers and steel parts are manufactured using 17-4PH stainless steel and barrels are made using 416 stainless steel. All are precision machined and surface hardened to Rc82 using BHA’s nitriding process to deliver unparalleled downrange performance and rugged-in-the-field dependability.

The 500 S&W Magnum chambering lets the Model 89 Black Thunder and White Lightning shoot bullets from 200 grains to a truck-stopping 700 grains. This incredible weight range combined with the availability of almost any style and type of bullet imaginable makes these rifles capable of taking any game animal walking the planet.

The two-point Rhodesian Sling is purposefully designed to work with BHA lever action rifles but will work on any rifle that has standard sling mounting points. It features a forward loop and acts as both a shooting support and a carry strap. Made with bridle leather and solid brass hardware by Andy’s Slings out of North Carolina, this is the perfect sling for the Model 89 or Model 90. 

The Wyoming Tactical Firearms Barron .50 Caliber Suppressor is specifically designed and engineered for .50 caliber ammunition in NON BMG, such as 500 S&W Mag, 500 Auto Max, and 50 Beowulf (Alexander Arms TM). The Barron will dramatically reduce the felt recoil as well as greatly reduce the sound heard (decibel reduction). It is only 9.875” long by 1.825” in diameter and weighs in at only 23 ounces. The Barron is finished in Cerakote coating in C-Series in a default Jet Black color.
