NEWINGTON, N.H., (May 28, 2024) – SIG SAUER, Inc. excited to announce the inaugural hosting of the SIG SAUER Archery Rifle Challenge (ARC) this June in the majestic mountains of Montana. ARC is an industry-first event that will test teams of competitors’ skills in archery, marksmanship, observation, and target detection on a course designed by world champion and Team SIG Professional Shooter Daniel Horner, with a $50,000 grand prize donation to the winning team’s charity of choice.

ARC Teams consist of three member teams, captained by individuals representing leading hunting brands and ARC Challenge partners; each team is named for one of the award-winning SIG SAUER Electro-Optics products lines.

The Inaugural Rifle Challenge Invitational consists of two-days of competition on a 5-mile Daniel Horner designed course with seven required stages each day. Stages will test a range of skills utilizing SIG SAUER Electro-Optics, SIG SAUER rifles and pistols, SIG SAUER Ammunition and competitor-preferred archery equipment.

Official ARC SIG SAUER Electro-Optics equipment includes: KILO series rangefinders, ZULU series binoculars, ROMEO red dot optics, and Tango and Whiskey riflescopes.

Ehea Scheurch from Washington State has worked as a Corrections Officer for eight years and has been a Defensive Tactics Instructor for about six of those eight years. She has been a member of the CRT team for two years and is the only female in the history of her department to make the team. Having been a competitive athlete for her entire life, Scheurch joined The Tactical Games in 2022 and has placed on the podium nine out of nine times with two second-place finishes at the National Championship.

Zach Rodman is a Police Officer/SWAT from Indiana. He became involved in The Tactical Games after seeing it on Instagram and hearing about it from a guest speaker at a SWAT Round-Up. When he competes, he has a standard goal to honor the investments that his parents, coaches, and friends have made for him.

Jacob Horton hails from North Carolina. He is a Police Officer, SWAT Team Leader, and avid hunter. He has been competing in The Tactical Games since 2019. His goal for 2024 is to finish in the Top Five at the National Championship.

Nathan Drumm served in the Marine Corps from 2001 – 2005 as a Combat Engineer at 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, Camp Pendelton, California. He then transitioned to the Marine Reserves in New Orleans as a Radio Operator until 2010. He joined the Baton Rouge Fire Department in 2008 and then went into the Fire Investigators Division as a Commissioned Fire/Arson Investigator. Most recently he went back to the fire truck to serve as a Firefighter. He has been competing in The Tactical Games since 2019 in the Elite Division. He now competes in the Masters Division.

Blayr Drumm is a Louisiana native who is a regular competitor in The Tactical Games. Additionally, she competes regularly in CrossFit competitions at the local, regional, and national levels. Her favorite activities include working out and shooting guns. Her goal is to inspire other women to be strong and independent through her dedication to fitness and marksmanship.

New Rechargeable Version of Popular Light is Multi-Fuel; Offers Enhanced Output

EAGLEVILLE, PA, May 23, 2024 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, introduced the ProTac® 2AA-X USB personal carry light, a rechargeable version of its popular ProTac® 2AA flashlight, featuring multi-fuel capability with USB or disposable battery options, while delivering 550 lumens and 10,250 candela. The exceptionally lightweight light, small enough to fit in pocket or attach to clothing or gear, is ideal for a variety of users, from first responders and tactical professionals to outdoor enthusiasts, industrial technicians, DIYers and automotive mechanics.

“The ProTac 2AA-X USB not only is USB-C rechargeable, but also more than doubles the lumen and candela output of its predecessor,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer Michael F. Dineen. “It gives users the choice of using either a cost-saving USB-C rechargeable battery pack or alkaline batteries, depending on availability or user preference,” said Dineen. “About the size of a marker, it’s the perfect EDC light for a variety of operating needs.”

The multi-fuel ProTac 2AA-X USB uses a 1600mAh Streamlight protected lithium polymer USB-C rechargeable battery pack that is rechargeable up to 500 times. The battery charges in approximately four hours via a USB-C port on the side. The light can also accept two AA alkaline batteries.

The new model features a multi-function, push-button tail switch that permits one-handed operation of the light’s momentary, variable intensity or strobe modes. The light’s TEN-TAP® programmable switch allows for user selection of one of three different programs: high/strobe/low (factory default), high only, or low/high.

The ProTac 2AA-X USB uses a power LED that on the High setting delivers 550 lumens and 10,250 candela, a beam distance of 203 meters and a 2.25-hour run time when using the rechargeable battery pack. With alkaline batteries inserted, it offers 270 lumens, 5,000 candela, a 141-meter beam distance and a 2.5 hour run time. On Low, run times range from 16 hours with the rechargeable battery to 48 hours with AA batteries. Strobe run time is 4.5 hours with the lithium polymer battery and 5 hours using disposable batteries.

Constructed with 6000 Series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, the ProTac 2AA-X USB features a gasket-sealed glass lens and an anti-roll face cap. The light weighs 3.5 ounces using either battery type, and measures 6 inches long with a body diameter of 0.7 inches.

The new model features an IPX7-rated design, making it waterproof to 1 meter. It is also 2-meter impact resistance tested.

Available in Black or Coyote, the ProTac 2AA-X USB ships with a holster, rechargeable lithium polymer battery pack, and a USB-C charge cord. It has an MSRP of $105.00 and comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The American Red Cross released the following statement after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the upcoming 2024 hurricane season will be one of the most challenging Atlantic hurricane seasons on record.

This hurricane season, more Americans than ever could be at risk to damaging storms, catastrophic rainfall and flooding, and intense storm surges. With more people living in hurricane-prone areas, the threat of powerful storms forming further north, and more rapidly intensifying storms, anyone living in coastal areas needs to be prepared even if they haven’t been impacted before. The evolving patterns of natural disasters have significantly altered the landscape, which is why the Red Cross launched a major new initiative to build more resilient communities before the next storm hits. Together with our partners and volunteers, we will continue to provide vital assistance and support to those affected by disasters, ensuring that no one faces these challenges alone.

Walk the Talk America Raises Over $105K in Mental Health Awareness Month Fundraiser

The first-of-its-kind fundraiser, hosted by Top Shot Season 4 Champion Chris Cheng, ran from May 1 – 8, 2024.

Las Vegas, Nev. (May 2024) – Walk the Talk America (WTTA), a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between mental health and responsible firearm ownership, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its $100K first-of-its-kind fundraiser. Thanks to the generous support of the firearms community and the leadership of Top Shot Season 4 Champion Chris Cheng, WTTA raised an impressive $105,568.44 during the fundraiser held from May 1 – 8, 2024.

Cheng kicked off the fundraiser with a personal donation of $5,000, which was used to match donations of $1,000 or less, inspiring the community to contribute to this vital cause. Walk the Talk America also received big contributions from their corporate partners Armscor, Ruger, Davidson’s, Lipsey’s, Chattanooga Shooting Supplies Inc., and Zephyr Wellness. The funds raised will be instrumental in enhancing WTTA’s programs, which aim to improve mental health for gun owners and educate mental health practitioners about the unique aspects of gun culture.

“Surpassing our fundraising goal is a testament to the strong belief within the firearms community that mental health is a key component in reducing gun violence,” said Cheng. “The overwhelming support we received underscores the commitment of gun owners to contribute to a safer and healthier America. This accomplishment during Mental Health Awareness Month signifies the positive impact we can achieve when we come together.”

EAST ALTON, IL (May 23, 2024) — The No. 10 Ford Mustang Dark Horse from Stewart-Haas Racing will feature the legendary Winchester brand in the 65th running of the Coca-Cola 600 Sunday at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.
Noah Gragson, the driver of the No. 10 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, comes into the NASCAR Cup Series’ longest race riding a wave of front-running consistency. Gragson has scored seven straight top-20s coming into Charlotte and he has finished among the top-15 in his last four races, a run that began with a career-best third-place drive April 21 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.
Viewers can catch the crown-jewel race on FOX and listeners can find it on the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
As part of #NASCARSalutes and the 600 Miles of Remembrance initiative during the Coca-Cola 600, the No. 10 team is honoring United States Marine Corps Sergeant Jasper P. Sloan. The native of Corpus Christi, Texas, was a Squad Leader with the Third Battalion, Twenty-Sixth Marines, Fifth Marine Division, who posthumously received the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity.
The Winchester brand will be featured at the following 2024 NASCAR Cup Series races:

June 16 – Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa
July 7 – Grant Park 165 at Chicago Street Race in Chicago, Illinois
July 21 – Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana
September 1 – Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina

About United States Marine Corps Sergeant Jasper P. Sloan

Born June 30, 1922, Sloan was killed in action against enemy forces during the Battle of Iwo Jima on Feb. 26, 1945. With his platoon held up by a devastating rain of hostile sniper and machine-gun fire, Sloan advanced his squad 75 yards to a strategic position on higher ground where he initiated a daring attack against strongly fortified Japanese positions despite a lack of flanking support. Repeatedly exposing himself to enemy fire as he pointed out new targets and directed his men, Sloan waged battle for more than two hours, enabling the remainder of his besieged platoon to move forward. Later that same day, Sloan twice braved heavy machine-gun fire to go to the aid of a seriously wounded comrade and, while ministering to him on the second occasion, was mortally struck down. Sloan’s dauntless courage, cool decision and self-sacrificing devotion to duty in the face of tremendous odds were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service.

This summer, from June 27th to July 8th, 2024, five determined teams will embark on an extraordinary journey to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, reaching the summit on July 4th! About the Expedition

In the federal government, Bradley advised the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security on matters related to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) management lines of business. He also previously served as Deputy White House Liaison at DHS, where he recruited candidates for political appointment, worked within the interagency to communicate policy issues, strategic messages, grant announcements, and the implementation of Homeland and National Security Presidential Directives. Bradley also served at the U.S. Department of Justice and in various positions in state government in Ohio.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.

Saull will develop programming, membership, and strategic programs for GTSC.

Forty years ago, a new NBC cop show redefined cool and came to define a genre. With its radical style, high fashion, and smooth vibe, Miami Vice changed police shows forever – and propelled one of its “co-stars” to worldwide fame.

Galco’s Miami Classic shoulder system, carrying Sonny Crockett’s Bren Ten, rocketed to popularity not just on TV, but among real-life gun carriers. Both police officers and armed citizens, seeing Don Johnson comfortably and concealably packing a heavy-duty handgun in the south Florida heat, clamored for their own Miami Classics. A star was born!

Four decades later, to celebrate and commemorate both Miami Vice and the now-famous Miami Classic, Galco is releasing a limited run of shoulder systems. The Miami Classic 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Shoulder System is serial numbered, with only 40 of these systems made through our custom shop – ever.

The holster system hearkens back to Galco’s shoulder systems of yesteryear. The design replicates the system worn by Don Johnson on the TV show, with the original muzzle-up/butt-down diagonal positioning. The premium leather is aged at the factory, providing a distressed look to match Sonny Crockett’s well-worn original. The 1” shoulder straps are easy to conceal, even while wearing an Armani suit.

It’s available for 1911s only. While the Bren Ten hasn’t been made for decades, Colt’s Delta Elite 1911 was a contemporary pistol that also chambered the then-new 10mm cartridge, and 1911s in general were very commonly carried by knowledgeable pistoleros of the 1980s. You can buy a Colt Delta Elite today, and of course 1911s continue to be phenomenally popular.

As our president and founder Richard Gallagher commented at Galco’s 50th anniversary celebration, “When I designed that first horizontal shoulder system for a real Chicago police officer back in the early 1970s, I’d have never guessed that a fictional vice cop would make it famous!”
