Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer Highlight 125th Grand American
EAST ALTON, IL (August 19, 2024)– The 2024 Grand American was a special one for the history books as it signified the 125th anniversary of one of the most popular shooting sports tournaments in the world put on by the Amateur Trap Association (ATA). Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer continued its longstanding support as the ATA’s official ammunition and target in 2024, while also celebrating the anniversary of the Grand American throughout the event.
More than 3,000 people traveled to compete at the Grand American, held at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, Illinois, where Winchester AA target loads and White Flyer targets reign supreme on the 1,600 acre complex.
Dagen Voigtman, member of Team Winchester, put on a show once again, adding to his highly accomplished shooting sports resume. Dagen burst onto the scene at the Grand American in 2020, when he shot the first ever 400/400 in the history of the three championship events. He again led the team with several event wins and placements. Dagen also defended his 2600 ATA High Overall (HOA) title from 2023. No other competitor hit more White Flyer AA orange dome clay targets than Dagen. His overall score, 2562/2600.
The Bartholow Brothers, also long time Team Winchester members, added to their legendary performances at the Grand American. Matt Bartholow came into this Grand looking for his 4th straight World Doubles title. After four years of shooting this event, Matt finally missed a target and finished with a near perfect 99/100. That put him in a shoot-off, which he won after ten boxes of AA target shotshells that sealed a spot in the top 10. Team Winchester member Keith Ditto was also consistent throughout the competition and locked in champion of preliminary week.

Now in its eighth year, National Shooting Sports Month continues to bring together the shooting community, encouraging everyone from seasoned pros to beginners to enjoy a day at the range. The #RangeChallenge has become a highlight of the month, offering a fun, lightly competitive way to engage in the sport and the chance to win fantastic prizes.
How to Get Involved in the #RangeChallenge
1. Download a Target:
There’s still time to participate! Visit the official #RangeChallenge website to download your target, or pick one up at a participating range near you.
2. Head to the Range:
Use the Shooting Sports Month host/events map to find a range that’s hosting the challenge, or simply visit your local range. Grab your target, review the game instructions and take your best shot!
3. Enter to Win:
After you’ve shot your target, be sure to upload a photo to the #RangeChallenge website or post it on Instagram using the hashtag #RangeChallenge. By doing so, you’ll be entered for a chance to win one of ten $500 gift cards!
4. Spread the Word:
Challenge your friends to participate, tag them on social media and encourage them to experience the fun of the #RangeChallenge. The more, the merrier!

We are opening a new training venue up in the Northeast corner of the US in 2025. The Ben Franklin Range in Templeton, PA has welcomed us with a host set up and we will be cracking open the 2025 training season with our first class of the year there. Link to their world class facility:
For those of you that are located along the western seaboard, we plan to run all three of our offerings (Try Before You Buy, Nightfighter 101, Nightfighter 201) at Pro Gun Vegas in Boulder City, NV. We ran a pilot of Nightfighter 201 this Spring, and it generated a ton of interest, so here we go!
We are taking our classes in Oklahoma at Badlands Tactical, Grandfield OK to once a year for 2025. Moving this series of classes to the fall and once annually should allow folks in the Southwest to look long range and get into some great training at this great facility.
Next, Rev-Tac in Jackson NE has expanded their training footprint a bit, so we are going to expand our offerings up there with them. A new facility with rooms/hallways/classrooms allows us to expand, offering Nightfighter 201 in the upper Midwest. https://www.rev-tac.com/

Law Enforcement Training Programs
Do you know that in addition to open enrollment training, TNVC also conducts Law Enforcement specific training? Our Law Enforcement training team’s diverse real-world experience allows us to provide a flexible and adaptable curriculum to provide specialized training that is safe, realistic, and practical to Law Enforcement agencies with different levels of night vision knowledge and experience. Our training team will work with your agency to help tailor our instruction to meet your requirements and needs. TNVC can provide instruction ranging from “unboxing” and familiarization up to building on already existing night vision skillsets.
If it is not possible for an agency to host TNVC for a contract class, there is still an opportunity for officers to get the NVG training that they are seeking. TNVC also conducts a Law Enforcement Night Fighter 101* class. These classes closely follow the format and instruction method of our civilian “open enrollment” classes. However, by having a student base comprised solely of Law Enforcement professionals, this gives us the freedom to address certain topics in class that would not be relevant or appropriate in an open enrollment class. Time can be spent discussing things such as equipment procurement assistance, legality and case law pertaining to night vision, use of force considerations, etc. Additionally, these courses will occur during the week to hopefully make it easier for LEOs to attend.

JAPAN BUYS TWO SEAGUARDIANS FROM GA-ASI
SAN DIEGO – 15 August 2024 – The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) has signed a contract for the purchase of two SeaGuardian® Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), scheduled for delivery in 2025. This follows JCG’s ongoing Company-Owned, Contractor-Operated agreement with GA-ASI for operating SeaGuardian, which began in April 2022.
“Since JCG started operating SeaGuardians, they have been used for various JCG missions including supporting search and rescue and disaster response specifically during the 7.6 magnitude earthquake early this year near the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture and maritime surveillance during the 2023 G-7 Summit in Hiroshima, and the system has performed efficiently and effectively,” said GA-ASI CEO Linden Blue.
SeaGuardian is a medium-altitude, long-endurance RPA system that can fly for 24 hours or more, depending on the configuration.
GA-ASI has strengthened its Maritime Wide Area Surveillance (MWAS) for Japan with Optix+, which gathers information from the SeaGuardian sensors, as well as other data sources, displaying the full picture of surveillance information for its operator. This functionality makes it easy to task and direct its Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) information in real time. GA-ASI’s Optix+ software suite rapidly correlates and exploits collected data into an easily shared common operational picture. Having multi-source correlated data enables automatic detection of anomalous behaviors over waters.
