Vincent Hancock’s victory in Paris cements his place among the greatest Olympians in history. Earning his fourth gold medal in men’s skeet, Hancock joins an elite group of athletes who have also won four gold medals in their respective events, ranking among names like Michael Phelps, Carl Lewis and Katie Ledecky. Competing at the Châteauroux Shooting Range, Hancock delivered an almost flawless performance. In the finals, his precision and composure shone through as he hit 58 out of 60 targets, securing the gold medal.

Sagen Maddalena Wins Silver in Women’s Smallbore Rifle

Sagen Maddalena demonstrated exceptional resilience in the Women’s 50m Smallbore Rifle, 3 Positions event. Maddalena’s determination and focus allowed her to execute a series of impressive shots in the single-shot eliminations, ultimately securing the silver medal.

Conner Prince Takes Silver in Men’s Skeet

In his Olympic debut, Conner Prince delivered a remarkable performance, claiming silver in Men’s Skeet. His achievement, alongside Hancock’s, marks the first time Team USA has secured multiple medals in this event at a single Olympic Games.

Austen Smith Earns Two Medals in Skeet Events

In Women’s Skeet, Austen Smith’s strong performance in the qualification round and finals earned her a well-deserved bronze medal. Her consistency and focus were evident as she navigated a highly competitive field.

Smith also partnered with Vincent Hancock in the Mixed Team Skeet event, a new addition to the Olympic program in Paris. The duo advanced smoothly to the final, narrowly missing out on the gold and earning a silver medal.

Katelyn Abeln Makes History in Women’s 25m Sport Pistol

In addition to these achievements, Katelyn Abeln of Douglasville, Georgia, made history in Paris by becoming the first U.S. woman to ever qualify for an Olympic pistol final. Competing in the Women’s 25m Sport Pistol event, Abeln showcased her talent and determination, finishing eighth overall. Her accomplishment marks another proud moment for USA Shooting and adds to the team’s impressive record at the Games.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NSSF’s Protect Liberty Political Action Committee (Protect Liberty PAC) announced it has received a $40,000 contribution from Range USA to support the election of candidates who will protect America’s liberty and our freedoms, especially the Second Amendment which is under constant attack by Vice President Kamala Harris, the new presumptive Democratic nominee for president.
“If elected to the presidency, Vice President Kamala Harris would be even more hostile to the firearm industry and the Second Amendment than President Joe Biden has been with the vice president by his side. Election Day 2024 is now just three months away and Range USA’s generous exemplary contribution demonstrates their willingness to defend our Second Amendment rights that millions of Americans revere,” said Lawrence G. Keane, Protect Liberty PAC’s Treasurer. “We thank Range USA’s president Tom Willingham for his leadership within the firearm industry. Team Winchester Members Medal at 2024 IPSC Rifle World Shoot

East Alton, IL (August 20, 2024)— Becky and Sean Yackley of Team Winchester both earned medals last week while representing the USA at the 2024 IPSC Rifle World Shoot in Oulu, Finland. Competition was fierce with more than 800 competitors from around the globe gathering to shoot 30 stages over the course of the five-day event.
Becky competed as part of the U.S. Ladies Open Team, earning the gold medal honors for the third time. The team maintained a balance between speed and accuracy to take top honors in their division.
Sean Yackley competed as part of the USA Men’s Standard Team meaning that they choose to shoot with non-magnified sights which makes distant shots particularly challenging. Team USA was up for the challenge however and earned the Silver Medal within their division.
“With targets ranging from 10-385 yards, accuracy is a must,” said Becky Yackley. “We used Winchester USA Ready, White Box FMJ as well as Winchester Reloading Components throughout the event for dependable performance at all ranges.”

Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer Highlight 125th Grand American

EAST ALTON, IL (August 19, 2024)– The 2024 Grand American was a special one for the history books as it signified the 125th anniversary of one of the most popular shooting sports tournaments in the world put on by the Amateur Trap Association (ATA). Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer continued its longstanding support as the ATA’s official ammunition and target in 2024, while also celebrating the anniversary of the Grand American throughout the event.
More than 3,000 people traveled to compete at the Grand American, held at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, Illinois, where Winchester AA target loads and White Flyer targets reign supreme on the 1,600 acre complex.
Dagen Voigtman, member of Team Winchester, put on a show once again, adding to his highly accomplished shooting sports resume. Dagen burst onto the scene at the Grand American in 2020, when he shot the first ever 400/400 in the history of the three championship events. He again led the team with several event wins and placements. Dagen also defended his 2600 ATA High Overall (HOA) title from 2023. No other competitor hit more White Flyer AA orange dome clay targets than Dagen. His overall score, 2562/2600.
The Bartholow Brothers, also long time Team Winchester members, added to their legendary performances at the Grand American. Matt Bartholow came into this Grand looking for his 4th straight World Doubles title. After four years of shooting this event, Matt finally missed a target and finished with a near perfect 99/100. That put him in a shoot-off, which he won after ten boxes of AA target shotshells that sealed a spot in the top 10. Team Winchester member Keith Ditto was also consistent throughout the competition and locked in champion of preliminary week.
“The Grand American is the true test for the world’s best trap shooters, and we congratulate all competitors for once again showcasing the excitement of the shooting sports,” said Jason Gilbertson, Director of Marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “Winchester Ammunition and White Flyer remain as two legendary brands that have supported the ATA for over 100 years. This was a truly special anniversary for the Grand American.”

How to Get Involved in the #RangeChallenge

Use the Shooting Sports Month host/events map to find a range that’s hosting the challenge, or simply visit your local range. Grab your target, review the game instructions and take your best shot!
