These new features help promote accelerated machine learning workflows within the PyTorch ecosystem, provide a consistent developer experience and support. Application developers and researchers seeking to fine-tune, inference and experiment with PyTorch models on Intel Core Ultra AI PCs will now be able to directly install PyTorch with preview and nightly binary releases for Windows, Linux and Windows Subsystem for Linux 2.

The implementation of SYCL* kernels to enhance coverage and execution of Aten operators on Intel GPUs to boost performance in PyTorch eager mode.

In addition, PyTorch 2.5 incorporates improvements and new features for the latest Intel data center CPUs. The FP16 datatype is enabled and optimized through Intel® Advanced Matrix Extensions for both eager mode and TorchInductor to enhance inference capabilities on the latest Intel data center CPU platforms, such as Intel® Xeon® 6 processors. The TorchInductor C++ backend is also available on Windows to bring a better user experience to AI developers in Windows environments.

A Girl & A Gun Partners with NSSF’s First Shots Program
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is pleased to announce that A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League has become an official partner of NSSF’s First Shots® program, the introductory and refresher target-shooting program made available through host target-shooting ranges across the country.
Founded in 2011, A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League is a women-only gun club introducing women and girls to pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting. The league is designed to help women feel more confident and comfortable when learning about recreational shooting and training at the range.
With its more than 300 chapters nationwide, the collaboration of a A Girl & A Gun and NSSF’s First Shots program has the ability to reach thousands of first-time shooters as well as those who want to renew their interest in the shooting sports.
“The partnership between A Girl & A Gun and First Shots has the power to introduce countless newcomers and novices to recreational shooting, firearm safety and a supportive community that enjoys target shooting and training together,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Member Development. “More and more Americans want to learn about recreational shooting and owning firearms for personal security, and First Shots has been designed to assist them by providing education in the classroom and experience on the firing line.”
By providing safe, fun and memorable educational experiences, First Shots partners and host ranges are having great success in attracting first-timers, further engaging new gun owners and reactivating lapsed participants. Surveys show that more than 43 percent of First Shots participants are converted to target-shooting enthusiasts, demonstrating that First Shots is fulfilling a need for providing a supportive environment to those who want to know more about recreational shooting and firearm ownership.
“A Girl & A Gun is proud to partner with NSSF to expand its First Shots program throughout our network. Because our specialty is welcoming women and families to firearms training, the program is a natural fit for our community. PLYMOUTH, Minn. – Oct. 9, 2024 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC), a leading manufacturer of medium-caliber cannons, is introducing its next-generation M230 Link Fed (M230LF) Dual Feed Bushmaster® Chain Gun®, offering two ammunition feed paths for the first time. This new 30x113mm medium caliber chain gun is a proven variant of the M230LF chain gun to counter uncrewed aerial threats (C-UAS) and ground engagements.

By offering a dual feed, the need for mixed ammunition belts in a single feed is eliminated.

The ability to switch between two kinds of ammunition is now possible. A standard recommended ammunition load includes XM1211 proximity fuzed rounds for C-UAS and XM1198 high explosive, dual purpose rounds for anti-armor capability.

The M230LF is currently at Technology Readiness Level 6. Meeting this threshold enables the capability to undergo live fire demonstrations that are currently scheduled for early 2025.

The ability to select between two different rounds ensures targets are addressed with the best ammunition for the target type saving time, reducing logistical burdens and allowing for more engagements before needing to reload the system.
For operators already using the M230LF, the Bushmaster loads out at a similar weight to the single feed M230LF and features 60%-part commonality, leading to faster routine repairs and decreased down time for maintenance. Single feed M230LF cannons will continue to be produced for customers that prefer that option.

Purpose-built for the Teledyne FLIR SIRAS™ professional uncrewed aerial system (UAS), it provides industry-leading thermal sensitivity for first responder missions and industrial inspections.
The Vue TV128+ series pairs a 128x-zoom, 16MP visible camera with a performance-leading 640×512 resolution FLIR Boson®+ thermal camera within a quick-connect gimbal. The Boson+ inside is an uncooled, longwave Infrared (LWIR) thermal camera module that offers improved thermal sensitivity of less than or equal to (≤)20 mK, delivering unmatched thermal contrast and sharpness, day or night.
Like the existing radiometric Vue TV128, the new Vue TV128+ features patented Teledyne FLIR MSX® Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging software to further improve thermal imagery and situational awareness. MSX adds visible light details to thermal images in real time for greater clarity, embedding edge and outline detail onto thermal readings. Unlike image fusing, the merging of a visible light and thermal image, MSX does not dilute the thermal image or decrease thermal transparency.

GA-ASI’S GRAY EAGLE EXTENDED RANGE UAS SUPPORTS ARMY VANGUARD DEMOS
SAN DIEGO – 15 October 2024 – As part of the U.S. Army’s Vanguard demonstrations that took place in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, on Sept. 17–18, 2024, a Gray Eagle Extended Range (GE-ER) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) provided by the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) showcased several new capabilities, including the integration of an Expeditionary Cyber Chassis (ECC) for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) and Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) with Communications Intelligence (COMINT) and Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) radios from Silvus Technologies.
Sponsored by Col. Danielle Medaglia, Product Manager for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, and operated by U.S. Army Soldiers, the GE-ER successfully demonstrated data relay and voice communication over significant distances, extending the range, quality, and speed of data exchanges for ground units. The demonstration also verified the capability of relaying video and chat messages between ground users equipped with Silvus 4200 MANET radios, highlighting the progress being made in enhancing tactical communications and situational awareness.
While utilizing the COMINT system, Gray Eagle was able to detect stationary and moving targets at significant ranges and provide data for analysis to expeditionary intelligence cells. This expansion of Gray Eagle capabilities is due to its open architecture, which exemplifies the Army’s Transformation in Contact (TIC) concept. The Army benefits by using an existing system to reduce risk and impacts while gaining new capabilities without the prolonged timelines of an acquisition new start.
“We’re excited to work with our Army customer to increase the relevance and capabilities of the GE-ER platform,” said Chris MacFarland, sector vice president of Strategic Development for Army Programs. “These efforts of Vanguard to demonstrate new capabilities hosted on CMOSS hardware will improve the Army’s premier UAS platform in supporting advanced UAS operations.”
Built by GA-ASI and operated by the U.S. Army, the GE-ER participating in the exercise represents the future capabilities of the Gray Eagle 25M’s open architecture design, allowing for rapid integration of vendor-agnostic sensors, radios, and payloads needed for Multi-Domain Operations. The ability to fully integrate internally mounted long-range sensors and launched effects, while controlling them with modernized laptop ground control systems, significantly enhances its survivability and lethality. Along with advanced data links, resilient GPS navigation systems, and an upgraded propulsion system, the GE 25M is resilient to electronic threats when deployed in expeditionary and austere locations.

As HK celebrates its 75th anniversary, there is a very limited opportunity to own a piece of their history with their 75th anniversary MR-Series rifles. Only 500 of each of these rifles will be sold. The rifles will be decorated in Flecktarn, the camo pattern utilized by the German armed forces or Bundeswehr. Like its 5.56 mm counterpart, the MR762A1 is a direct descendent of the HK416/417 series, only in a semi-automatic rifle configuration developed for civilian users. The MR762A1 uses a proprietary HK short-stroke gas piston in place of the direct-gas-impingement system found on lesser AR15-style rifles that propels exhaust gas into the upper receiver to operate the action. In the “closed” HK piston system, exhaust gasses never enter the receiver, which means the HK runs cooler, cleaner and more reliably. And when adverse conditions, like dust, sand and mud are introduced, the advantage of the HK system becomes even more drastic. The MR762A1 has a cold hammer forged barrel made from cannon-grade steel, producing a barrel that ensures accuracy, even after firing thousands of rounds. Includes four 10rd magazines.

A limited-edition civilian version of the USMC Deployment Kit. The MR27 is the civilian adaptation of the legendary M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle (IAR), a specific variant of the HK 416.
The M27 IAR was selected by the U.S. Marine Corps in August 2011 as part of an innovative program to develop a highly accurate, lightweight, and more reliable alternative to currently fielded light machine guns. The “M27” designation pays tribute to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, the unit that originated the concept of the Infantry Automatic Rifle.
The IAR program began in 2001 as a “needs statement” within the Marine Corps. Operational experience in Iraq and Afghanistan over recent years reinforced the requirement for a magazine-fed 5.56 mm automatic rifle. This rifle, designed to be operated by a single Marine, offers greater accuracy, increased reliability, and lighter weight than the existing belt-fed 5.56 mm machine gun. These features enhance the automatic rifleman’s maneuverability and speed, making it a superior option to the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW).
Recent testing and operational deployment have confirmed that the IAR is more suitable for house-to-house clearing operations and daily use by the automatic rifleman compared to the M249. Now, with the MR27, civilians can experience the same performance and reliability that have made the M27 a cornerstone of Marine Corps operations.

The WalkAbout 3.0’s open top allows a very fast draw, while the reinforced mouth allows a smooth and easy return of the gun to the holster. The WalkAbout 3.0’s belt clips are adjustable for cant, making it suitable for the strongside, crossdraw, or appendix carry positions.
The WalkAbout 3.0’s attached magazine carrier has a more pronounced angle than previous versions. This angle allows pistols with most carry-style red-dot optics to clear the spare magazine’s floorplate when drawing and has the secondary benefit of allowing a faster draw of the magazine when reloading, especially from the appendix carry position.
The ambidextrous WalkAbout 3.0 is supplied with two types of interchangeable tuckable clips. The first is the UniClip™, designed to go over the belt, but which also works well without a belt. MURFREESBORO, TENNESSEE — Barrett Firearms Manufacturing Inc. has unveiled the Squad Support Rifle System (SSRS), its entrant into the U.S. Army’s Precision Grenadier System (PGS) Program, at this year’s Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
As a part of Barrett’s continued commitment to delivering innovative, battle-proven solutions for U.S. and allied soldiers, the SSRS is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern combat.
Barrett has teamed with MARS Inc., an innovative tech start-up and finalist in the U.S. Army’s xTechSoldier Lethality competition. This strategic collaboration brings together two innovators in soldier lethality systems to develop a next-generation 30mm support rifle.
“We are excited to be working with Barrett, the world’s premier soldier weapons manufacturer, to mature our 30mm Support Rifle System for the U.S. Army’s PGS Program,” Michael Merino, President of MARS Inc, said. “Together, we’re developing a solution that will greatly enhance the soldier’s ability to engage a wide range of battlefield threats.”
The SSRS will offer soldiers an advanced counter-defilade capability and the ability to defeat Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and dismounted soldier targets. Designed for the U.S. Army’s upcoming PGS solicitation expected in FY2026, Barrett will head a team of industry-leading partners to develop a cutting-edge system optimized for lethality and soldier safety.

Granbury, TX (October 15, 2024) – In 2022, Bond Arms® released the original Cyclops®, a single-shot derringer chambered in 45/70. Last year, the Cyclops® was re-released in .44 magnum to fill a gap in caliber needs and offer what customers have been asking for. This year, Bond Arms continued the tradition with the .50 AE!
While not a lightweight gun, the Cyclops® is a beast of a firearm capable of handling extreme pressures and cartridges. Comparatively light, the 28 oz gun is both concealable and effective. Unlike the traditional over/under staple, each Cyclops® model is a single shot only. The lack of a secondary chambering adds weight to the pistol and mitigates some of the felt recoil.
Its caliber model comes with an extended and proprietary B6 resin grip. These B6 grips are ergonomic and relatively easy to shoot. Incorporated sights are no different than most Bond Arms’ options and are fixed to the frame and barrel. As with all other models, the barrels of the Cyclops® can be swapped for those of different calibers. This expands potential caliber usage and availability without requiring a new pistol purchase. The Cyclops® frame will not fit all standard barrels available due to only having one firing pin rather than two.
As a backup pistol, the 6.75-inch overall length and 4.25-inch long stainless steel barrel come paired with a 7 lb trigger. Satin finish options are available for all three calibers, along with a black leather Cyclops® holster. Continue the tradition of innovation by bonding with the one-eyed beast that is the Cyclops®.
