FOUNDED ON FABRICS

Like all TUO creations, fabric selection is cornerstone to how a garment ultimately performs in the field. The Aptitude Softshell Pant is founded on an exceptional 4-way stretch fabric with unmatched mobility and a perfect fit. The pliable yet durable fabric is composed of 94.5% polyester and 5.5% spandex, the hint of spandex providing the right amount of give at the right time. Moreover, TUO’s 4-way stretch fabric is deadly quiet, dampening your presence in the field when silence is golden.

Despite the fabric’s soft feel, it’s also windproof. TUO incorporated its AeroGuard™ windproof membrane to break breezes without adding any bulk to maintain the Aptitude Softshell Pant’s signature freedom of motion.

Buffering the pant’s windproof capacity is a specialized treatment that helps shed moisture and prevent staining. 

Internally, a fleece grid lining fortifies warmth and comfort for trekking in cold conditions. But with warmth comes the inevitability of perspiration. TUO thought about that as well. The Aptitude Softshell Pant wears remarkably dry and comfortable, unwanted moisture wicked away.

POLYGIENE TECHNOLOGY

TUO didn’t stop there, instead summoning two advanced fabric technologies: Polygiene StayFresh™ and OdorCrunch™. Polygiene StayFresh antibacterial technology prevents bacteria from growing on fabrics and textiles, so they don’t smell. Less odor means less washing, saving water, energy and wear and tear so products last longer and need to be replaced less frequently. Polygiene StayFresh is based on silver chloride, a salt that is naturally present in water and soil. The silver ions in the salt make it impossible for the bacteria responsible for bad smells to multiply, stopping odor.

VERSE CAMO

Polygiene OdorCrunch odor control technology is a practical and eco-friendly solution to the problem of lingering odors on clothing and fabrics. Smoke, food, and body odors become ingrained into the fibers of textiles. Polygiene OdorCrunch works as a natural anti-odor treatment by capturing, ‘crunching,’ and permanently removing odors using natural silica particles, the primary component of common sand.

Not only does this keep clothing and fabrics smelling fresher for longer, but it reduces the amount of washing required. This reduces water usage, and the amount of detergent and energy spent on laundry. It makes fabrics last longer, creating eco-friendly clothes.

SPECIALIZED FEATURES

TUO next merged these technologies with fit and function. First, the knees are sewn and stitched with articulation for improved dexterity and mobility. The knees don’t bunch or restrict when you kneel to get a better shot or flip a steak over the campfire. Moreover, TUO added abrasion-resistant knee overlays for added durability.

Donning and doffing boots with standard hunting pants can be arduous, cuffs struggling to accommodate boots. Not the case with TUO’s Aptitude Softshell Pant, which features solid state zippers from cuff to knee.
