Carrying a handgun in the same horizontal position as the Miami Classic, the Miami Classic II orients its spare ammo carrier in a vertical position, allowing a “gravity assist” and a natural grasp on the speedloaders when reloading.

A key component of this shoulder system is its spider harness. All four points of the spider harness pivot independently and are connected by our unique clover shaped Flexalon™ swivel back plate, which is a Galco trademark. This results in a perfect fit and lasting comfort for all sizes and shapes. The Miami Classic II’s harness straps are 1 1/2″ at their widest point, distributing weight while also remaining concealable.

Bolzano, November 11, 2024. NSSF Celebrates Major Legal Victory as District Court Strikes Down Illinois’ MSR Ban

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, celebrated today the decision by U.S. District Court Judge Stephen P. McGlynn of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois striking down as unconstitutional the Illinois law that bans most semiautomatic firearms including Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs), certain models of semiautomatic handguns and standard capacity magazines. The decision is a significant victory for the millions of law-abiding gun owners and the firearm industry in Illinois.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law HB 5471, the “Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA),” in January 2023. HB 5741 is among the nation’s most expansive gun control laws and banned the sale of hundreds of models of rifles including commonly-owned MSRs, certain semiautomatic handguns and rifle magazines with a capacity greater than 10 cartridges and pistol magazines with a capacity greater than 15 cartridges.

NSSF, along with several co-plaintiffs, filed a legal challenge seeking to strike down this unconstitutional law and prevailed. Notably, in his decision Judge McGlynn wrote, “PICA is an unconstitutional affront to the Second Amendment and must be enjoined. The Government may not deprive law-abiding citizens of their guaranteed right to self-defense as a means of offense.” More specifically, the court held that MSRs and standard capacity magazines are in common use and have legitimate self-defense purposes.

“This decision handed down by Judge McGlynn is welcomed and what we in the firearm industry have known all along: commonly-owned firearms and standard capacity magazines are protected by law-abiding Americans under the Second Amendment,” stated Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “The U.S. Supreme Court has already recognized that semiautomatic rifles ‘traditionally have been widely accepted as lawful,’ and with over 28 million of these rifles in circulation today, they are clearly commonly-owned for lawful purposes, meeting the threshold set by the Supreme Court in its Heller decision. Semiautomatic handguns are overwhelmingly the choice of firearm for personal self-defense. This law was clearly unconstitutional and did nothing to punish criminals who choose to break the law. It only deprives law-abiding Americans from being able to exercise their full spectrum of Second Amendment rights.”

While the court struck down the law, it did stay its permanent injunction for 30 days to give the State the opportunity to appeal and seek an emergency stay from the Seventh Circuit, which means that the law temporarily stays in effect.

RICE LAKE, Wis., November 8, 2024 – Henry Repeating Arms, one of the country’s leading firearms manufacturers and a world leader in the lever-action category, recently donated another $25,000 to the First Responders Children’s Foundation at a celebratory National First Responders Day event in New York City’s Times Square. The donation follows a $50,000 donation in 2022 and a $25,000 donation in 2023, bringing Henry Repeating Arms’ total contributions to $100,000 in support of the organization’s mission to help support the children and families of first responders who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.

EAGLEVILLE, PA, November 7, 2024 – Streamlight^®, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, launched the rechargeable Stinger^® 2020 S, a powerful work light featuring 2,000 lumens, a body-mounted switch with intensity mode selector and battery status indicator, and a textured body for an enhanced grip. The new Stinger model, which is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, also features PiggyBack^® charging options that allow users to energize both the light and a backup battery at the same time.

“While the original Stinger 2020 revolutionized the idea of a super-bright, rechargeable work light, this newest model features the added benefit of being compatible with a PiggyBack charger, which ensures users will never be without a spare battery when using the light for a full work shift,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer, Michael F. Dineen. “Like the original Stinger 2020, its easy-to-use mode selector switch eliminates the need to cycle between modes with each use, and its ergonomic flat design lets you hold the light without losing your grip. It’s an ideal work light for automotive and industrial technicians, first responders and outdoor users alike.”

The new light is powered by a single Stinger 2020 S 5,200mAh protected Li-Ion rechargeable battery pack. It can be charged inside the light with existing Stinger chargers or via a PiggyBack charger that simultaneously charges an extra battery, doubling the run time. A 5-unit bank charger is also available.

Featuring a high-power LED for extreme brightness, the Stinger 2020 S features a head-mounted on/off switch for momentary or constant on operation, and a selector switch for choosing high, medium or low intensity modes. On high, the Stinger 2020 S delivers 2,000 lumens, 25,000 candela, a 315-meter beam distance and a 2-hour run time. On low, the light offers an extended run time of 24 hours with 100 lumens, 1,200 candela and a 70-meter beam distance. Strobe mode runs for 3.25 hours.

Made from premium quality aluminum alloy, the Stinger 2020 S features a BOROFLOAT^® glass lens that is impact-resistant and gasket-sealed. The light measures 7.69 inches and weighs 12.2 ounces.

The Stinger 2020 S is IPX7-rated and is waterproof to one meter for 30 minutes. It is also impact-resistance tested to two meters. Available in black, the Stinger 2020 S comes in Standard, PiggyBack, and Light Only models. The new light has an MSRP that ranges from $230.00 to $332.63, depending on the configuration. Each model comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

SAN DIEGO – 07 November 2024 – On November 5, 2024, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) used its MQ-20 Avenger^® Unmanned Aircraft System to perform commanded autonomy maneuvers as part of a demonstration with the U.S. Navy (USN). The USN used its MD-5 Ground Control Station (GCS) with Lockheed Martin’s MDCX™ autonomy platform to command and control the jet-powered UAS. Working collaboratively with the USN and Lockheed Martin, the GA-ASI team successfully executed the flight demonstration over a Proliferated Low Earth Orbit (PLEO) datalink.

The USN’s Unmanned Carrier Aviation program office PMA-268 used GA-ASI’s MQ-20 as a surrogate to demonstrate how its Unmanned Carrier Aviation Mission Control Station (UMCS) can command a variety of unmanned aircraft. The MD-5 GCS was operated from the USN’s test facility at Patuxent River, Maryland, while the MQ-20 was flown out of GA-ASI’s Desert Horizon flight operations facility in El Mirage, California.

This flight was the first time a GA-ASI UAS completed bi-directional communications using the UMCS operation codes while performing autonomous behavior. The procedure was completed using the PLEO datalink.

“This effort was a prime example of industry partners and government agencies working together to perform important new capabilities,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “The team efficiently and safely demonstrated aircraft flight control from another government agency’s control station. Using GA-ASI’s Tactical Autonomy Core Ecosystem (TacACE) software, the team not only executed airborne commands, but did so in a safe, controlled environment.”

The demonstration was part of an effort to advance technology for future Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). GA-ASI initiated the demonstration between PMA-268 and Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works to demonstrate connectivity between the Navy’s UMCS and GA-ASI’s MQ-20 Avenger. MQ-20 is a jet-powered platform used extensively as a CCA surrogate test bed for autonomous UAS technology development. GA-ASI was recently selected for the U.S. Air Force’s CCA program.

New Tactical Stock for Savage Axis Bolt Action Rifles

New Tactical Rifle Stock for Savage Axis Rifles from Choate Machine and Tool

Bald Knob, AR – Choate Machine and Tool, a leading designer, manufacturer and OEM supplier of rifle stocks, shotgun stocks, shotgun magazine extensions and firearms accessories, is pleased to announce the introduction of their renown Tactical Rifle Stock for the Savage Axis bolt action rifle.
The Choate Machine and Tool Tactical Rifle Stock combines the best of an aluminum chassis and a polymer stock to provide a superior foundation for accuracy. A full-length aluminum bedding block runs from the length of the action through the length of the forend to provide rigidity, stability, and consistency. The tactical/precision rifle configured stock is then molded over this aluminum bedding block to form a seamless and synergistic combination of the two materials. This creates a stock that is ergonomic as well as accurate, consistent, and extremely durable.

Like all Choate Machine and Tool Tactical Rifle stocks, there is generous relief around the barrel channel to insure a proper free-floating condition, length of pull spacers and a 1” recoil pad to fit the stock to the shooter and Choate’s proven pillar bedding system. The Axis stock also features an improved steel recoil lug that gives more contact with the slot in the bottom of the receiver. This results in less flex between the rifle and the lug.

Tactical Rifle stocks feature a T-rail on the bottom of the forend to attached bipods and other accessories. Sling swivel studs are also included. Length of pull is adjustable from 12.5” to 13.5” with included spacers, and with additional spacers can be adjusted to 14.5.” Each stock come with an adapter to use a Harris bipod. Picatinny rail adapters are also available. The T-rail allows the user to move the bipod forward or rearward along the forend to adjust for terrain various shooting positions as need to maximize stability and ergonomics.

The Choate Tactical Stock is a significant upgrade for any factory polymer or wood stock, and the Savage Axis will benefit tremendously from consistency and rigidity of the Tactical Stock’s full length aluminum chassis/bedding block. This stock uses the factory detachable magazines. The Tactical Rifle Stock for the Savage Axis bolt action rifles is now available with an MSRP of $290.00
