Winchester Donates Ammunition to Support
NSSF’s First Shots Program
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is pleased to announce that Winchester has donated an additional 40,000 rounds of rimfire ammunition in support of NSSF’s First Shots® program. This year’s support brings Winchester’s total donation to more than 160,000 rounds of rimfire ammunition to the First Shots program over the past three years.
“We are hugely grateful to Winchester for its ongoing support of NSSF’s First Shots program,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Member Development. “As with Winchester’s past donations of rimfire ammunition, this year’s will allow first-time and novice target shooters to gain experience in handling and using firearms safely. Americans in growing numbers are eager to learn about firearm ownership, and First Shots has been designed to assist them by providing education in the classroom and experience on the firing line.
Winchester is one of the premier manufacturers of ammunition in America and is a longtime supporter of First Shots and other NSSF programs such as National Shooting Sports Month® and Project ChildSafe®.
NSSF’s First Shots is an introductory and refresher program made available through host target-shooting ranges across the country. By providing educational experiences that are safe, fun and memorable, host ranges are having great success in attracting first-timers, further engaging new gun owners and in reactivating lapsed participants. Surveys show that more than 43 percent of First Shots participants are converted to target-shooting enthusiasts who individually spend on average more than $600 annually on their shooting sports endeavors.
“Growing the number of shooting sports participants and providing positive experiences are extremely important, and the NSSF First Shots program continues to engage new participants,” said Jason Gilbertson, Director of Marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “As an industry leader, Winchester is committed to the mission of the program and its success.”

POLAND TO ACQUIRE THREE MQ-9B SKYGUARDIANS® FROM GA-ASI
SAN DIEGO – 16 December 2024 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) announces the sale of three MQ-9B SkyGuardian® Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) systems to the Polish Ministry of Defence. The MQ-9B is the newest model of RPA produced by GA-ASI, and will serve as the foundational intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platform for Poland. The sale to Poland also includes two Certifiable Ground Control Stations (CGCS) and three years of GA-ASI’s SkyGuardian Global Support Solutions.
MQ-9B delivers exceptionally long endurance and range, with auto takeoff and landing under SATCOM-only control, and will be able to operate in unsegregated airspace using the GA-ASI-developed Detect and Avoid system.
“The purchase of MQ-9B SkyGuardian will deliver persistent multi-domain situational awareness, which is vital to Poland,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “SkyGuardian is a critical security tool and GA-ASI is proud to continue to build on its strong partnership with Poland.”
In 2022, Poland began operating MQ-9A Reapers as part of a lease agreement with GA-ASI. The success of those missions opened the door for the purchase of the MQ-9B aircraft.
The Polish National Defense Ministry said: “In the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, a contract was concluded for the supply of MQ-9B SkyGuardian unmanned reconnaissance systems, which will increase the capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces in the field of ISR.”
First customer deliveries of MQ-9B began in 2022 to the U.K. Royal Air Force. Contracts have also been signed with Belgium, Canada, the Japan Coast Guard, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Taiwan, India, and the U.S. Air Force in support of Special Operations Command. MQ-9B has additionally supported various U.S. Navy exercises this year, including Northern Edge, Integrated Battle Problem, and Group Sail.

NSSF to Host 2nd Annual State Attorneys General Forum at SHOT Show 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, will host several state leading law enforcement officers for the 2nd Annual state Attorneys General Forum at SHOT Show® 2025 to discuss the legal landscape. This forum will be a moderated discussion surrounding courtroom developments to protect Second Amendment rights and the firearm industry from antigun “lawfare” attacks and the Biden-Harris administration. The forum will focus on ongoing legal battles, legal questions and the amicus briefs these attorneys general submitted to the courts opposing threats to the Second Amendment and the industry as well as challenging many of the proposed and final rules by the Biden-Harris administration.
Confirmed for 2nd Annual Attorneys General Forum are (in alphabetical order of states):
“The firearm industry and gun owners have true courtroom champions in these attorneys general. They are the vanguard to standing up the past four years of attacks by the Biden-Harris administration against our industry and our Second Amendment rights,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “They are the crucial voices in the courts to demonstrate how gun control ‘lawfare’ is abusing rights that belong to the people. NSSF is proud to bring this opportunity to SHOT Show for attendees to hear directly from those defending our freedoms in the courts.”
The 2nd Annual Attorneys General Forum, moderated by NSSF’s Lawrence G. Keane, will be a laid back and interactive discussion with state attorneys general fighting the legal battle initiated and still ongoing by the Biden-Harris administration and other politically-driven attacks against the firearm and ammunition industry and Second Amendment rights. These attorneys general are the leading law enforcement officials in their states and fight back against the wave of “lawfare” brought by special-interest gun control groups that weaponize courts against American civil liberties. The Attorneys General Forum will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 4-5 p.m. at the Venetian Expo, Lido Room 3101A.
More attorneys general may be added to the forum as schedules permit. The 2nd Annual Attorneys Forum is open to all SHOT Show attendees and media. The forum is open to all, but space is limited. Register today!
