Barrett Unveils New MRAD Covert Rifle, Return of the REC10, .50 BMG Precision Ammunition and Expanded Finishes.

MURFREESBORO, TN – Barrett® Firearms Manufacturing Inc. today announced the expansion of its 2026 product lineup, introducing new rifle platforms, a powerful addition to its Precision Ammunition line, and expanded finish options. Together, these releases reinforce Barrett’s leadership in precision, innovation, and American manufacturing excellence.

MRAD® Covert – Precision Without Compromise

Transforming tactical mobility and precision for the most discreet operational environments, the MRAD Covert redefines what a compact precision rifle can achieve. Featuring a compact folding stock configuration, the MRAD Covert disassembles effortlessly to fit within a bag or backpack, enabling exceptional concealment and rapid transport for government users, while remaining easy to handle for sporting shooters and hunters without sacrificing accuracy or reliability. Built upon the proven, magazine-fed, bolt-action MRAD platform, the MRAD Covert delivers the same performance and durability users expect from the full-size rifle in a more compact and highly mobile package.

From the factory, the MRAD Covert is configured in either .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor with a 17-inch barrel and delivers 5-shot sub-0.85 MOA accuracy. The rifle remains fully compatible with all MRAD barrel conversion kits, ensuring seamless adaptability across mission profiles. Designed for military operators, law enforcement teams, and long-range enthusiasts, the MRAD Covert maintains the full suite of MRAD features and capabilities in a compact form factor optimized for discreet carry. Each rifle ships with an Eberlestock® Adapt backpack or can be tailored to meet end-user requirements using a variety of flexible transport solutions.

Barrett Precision Ammunition – .50 BMG

Barrett also announced the expansion of its Precision Ammunition line with the introduction of .50 BMG Precision Ammunition, joining the existing .416 Barrett offering. Engineered for extreme accuracy and long-range consistency, the new .50 BMG cartridge features a 660-grain MTAC projectile producing approximately 2,800 feet per second from a 32-inch barrel. Manufactured to the industry’s tightest production tolerances, Barrett Precision Ammunition utilizes hand-selected match-grade projectiles, premium primers, climate-stable powders, and precision cases to ensure exceptional consistency and performance.

Designed to deliver optimized external ballistics, reduced drag, minimal wind drift, and extended supersonic range, Barrett Precision Ammunition offers unmatched terminal performance and energy retention at extreme distances. REC10® Returns to the Lineup

After being placed on production hold due to Barrett’s prioritization of its MRAD MK 22™ contract, the REC10 returns to the lineup by popular demand. Redefining premium precision and resilience, the REC10 is a direct-impingement, semi-automatic rifle developed through advanced engineering and rigorous testing to perform in the most demanding conditions. Featuring fully ambidextrous controls, an optimized gas system designed to minimize recoil, and premium hardware throughout, the REC10 delivers exceptional accuracy, durability, and tactical versatility for professional and civilian users alike.

From the factory, the REC10 is available in .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor with either a 16-inch or 20-inch barrel configuration and delivers 5-shot sub-MOA accuracy. The REC10 is scheduled to be available for purchase beginning mid-2026.

Expanded Finish Offerings

For 2026, Barrett is expanding its Cerakote® finish offerings across its flagship rifle platforms. Every M107A1®, Model 82A1®, and MRAD® rifle can now be ordered in five new solid finishes: White, Blaze (Red), Liberty (Blue), Burnt Bronze, and Sniper Green. In addition to these new solid colors, customers may also select optional Woodland Camo or Grey Urban Camo patterns. Barrett’s standard finishes, including Black, Tungsten Grey, FDE, and Coyote, remain available, and additional products are currently being evaluated for future color expansion.
