Hobie Eyewear Debuts New Product Innovations at January Surf Expo 2026

Oceanside, CA (January 5, 2026) – Eyeking LLC brand Hobie® Eyewear returns to Surf Expo this week with a strong lineup of new product introductions that reinforce the brand’s focus on performance, sustainability, and real-world functionality. Exhibiting in booth 207, Hobie® Eyewear will unveil multiple new styles and category expansions designed for life on and around the water.

Leading the launch is Hatch Float. A new floating lifestyle frame that builds on the success of the brand’s Hull Float style. Hatch Float is crafted from upcycled Hobie kayak plastic and features the same premium, polarized lens performance and buoyancy that consumers have come to expect. A portion of sales from Hatch Float will support the FishAmerica Foundation, furthering Hobie® Eyewear’s ongoing commitment to conservation and healthier waterways. With its 6-base lifestyle design, Hatch Float expands sustainable eyewear into a more everyday silhouette.



“Hatch Float was inspired by the overwhelming response to Hull Float and the desire to offer that same sustainability story in a more casual wearable frame,” said Stephen Vaughan, Senior Director of Product Development at Hobie® Eyewear. “We wanted to prove that eco-conscious materials and premium performance can exist in styles people want to wear every day.”

Mojo Float 2.0 takes one of Hobie Eyewear’s best-selling floating styles to the next level with an anti-fog brow gasket and co-molded megol rubber that boost comfort, grip, and moisture control while keeping its trusted flotation performance.

Also debuting is Mojo Float 2.0, which is a significant evolution of one of Hobie® Eyewear’s best-selling floating styles. The updated design introduces an anti-fog brow gasket and co-molded MEGOL™ rubber for improved comfort, grip, and moisture management. These enhancements elevate Mojo Float 2.0 into a more technical performance option while maintaining its reliable flotation.

Hobie Eyewear will also introduce a brand-new ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated collection, expanding into protective eyewear designed to meet rigorous impact and safety standards. The collection is highlighted by Everglades ANSI and Everglades ANSI Readers, delivering durable protection while maintaining Hobie® Eyewear’s signature polarized optics.

Rounding out the new Readers Collection are additional reader options in the popular Woody Sport frame. Both Woody Sport Readers and Everglades ANSI Readers are available in two lens tint options and three magnification powers (+1.5, +2.0, and +2.5), offering clear and comfortable vision for close-up tasks without compromising style or performance.
