Is the stopping power of the FN Smart ProtectoR®-303T projectile effective?

Yes. The power of the FN 303® projectile is very effective in obtaining compliance of subjects from 0 to 30m.

Energy delivered to the threat

The muzzle energy of an FN 303® projectile is approximately 4 ½ times the energy of a paintball and the density of energy is the same as a 40mm less lethal projectile. It creates sufficient effect to dissuade a person from continuing their action.

Semi-automatic with 15-round magazines

The launcher has a semi-automatic mechanism so that the user can shoot repeatedly for greater effect (up to 15 rounds without changing magazine).

Second payload

The projectile can carry a synthetic pepper which, in addition to the kinetic impact causing temporary discomfort and pain sensation, will cause additional compliance inducing temporary respiratory and ocular irritation.
