The red dot sight has been globally accepted as viable, and quite often preferred, aiming technology for pistols. Today, there are no major firearm manufacturers that do not offer one or more pistols machined to accept a red dot sight. There are two issues that surfaced for red dot sight users, red dot sight footprint to pistol compatibility and effective co-witnessing of the pistol’s fixed sights with the red dot sight. It’s an important consideration because all electronics can fail, and iron sights will back up your red dot sight. Quite often the best solution is installing suppressor height night sights, like the XS Sights R3D 2.0 Tritium Night Sights. In my upcoming review I’ll take a look at one of the best tritium night sights on the market, XS Sights.
