Professor Chris Miller is an accomplished expert in international politics, economics, and technology. He is the author of the award-winning book, Chip War: The Fight for the World’s Most Critical Technology, which delves into the struggle between the United States and China for control over computer chip manufacturing. With a background in academia, consulting, and research, Professor Miller has written extensively on geopolitical and economic trends, and his work has been featured in prestigious publications like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Jason Zander is the executive vice president of the Strategic Missions and Technologies division at Microsoft, where he leads the engineering and sales field organizations incubating technical products and driving scientific discovery for the future of cloud computing and continued company growth. He also serves as the Chief Technology Advisor of Titletown Tech in Green Bay, WI—a partnership between the Green Bay Packers and Microsoft—to build and fund early-stage, high-growth businesses in the region.

Call for Abstracts

NDIA and ETI welcome your abstract submission for technical or poster presentation at the inaugural Emerging Technologies for Defense Conference & Exhibition.

With the theme of “Delivering New Capabilities to the Warfighter at Speed and Scale,” we invite high-quality abstracts that address innovative science and technology topics* such as Contested Logistics, Counter UAS, Operational Energy, and other game changing emerging technologies including microelectronics, hypersonics, directed energy, biotechnology, etc.

Deadline for submissions: June 16, 2023

Abstract Requirements:

Unclassified and publicly releasable.
Abstracts can be up to 3,000 characters in length.
Poster submissions should outline details of the proposed poster or tabletop demonstration concerning ongoing or completed work.
Presentation submissions should focus on completed work that demonstrates high impact results for the community or discuss future efforts or anticipated new developments to foster more dynamic and interactive discussions and help generate visionary ideas and concepts. Presentations will be 12-minutes in length, including questions and answers.
All abstracts will be considered as a potential presentation or poster, unless the authors specify in their submission that they would like their abstract to ONLY be considered for a poster. Abstracts must be unclassified and cleared for public release.
