The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) is the DoD Field Activity responsible for managing DoD, industry, academic, and public access to defense-funded scientific research. As the Department’s scientific and technical information knowledge provider, the organization plays a key role in facilitating classified and unclassified information sharing on research and engineering efforts relevant to national defense. DTIC also administers the DoD Information Analysis Centers which bring together subject matter experts to provide a wide array of technical analysis, conduct basic and applied research, and evaluate the state of the art.
