Magpul and Maztech Industries are collaborating to develop and begin commercial sales of the X4 System, so what is an X4 system. Simply stated, it’s a system of integrated sensors that interact with your weapons system and its low power variable magnification optic to provide an automatic firing solution. At the present time, Magpul is expected to provide the magazine, grip and trigger guard that will supply a rounds remaining information while Maztech will deliver the X4 system. The X4 utilizes the user supplied variable power optic in both 30mm or 34mm and it’s expected to be available Q4 of 2022, which seems somewhat ambitious. The Magpul / Maztech partnership has some interesting aspirations for the X4 System, but to quote a hackneyed cliché, the proof is in the pudding. One thing is certain, the future is at hand.
Some of the system features:
- The customizable ballistic engine supports any bullet or weapon type.
- Supports offset rail mounts
- The ballistic engine uses wind, temperature, humidity, pressure, altitude, pitch, roll and heading.
- The display functions like a first focal plane optic zooming with magnification settings.
- Wind and elevation adjustment are 0.5MOA with a + or – 120 MOA total adjustment.
- You’ll be able to store 25 profiles
