THE AMERICAN CLIMATE CRISIS CLIFF…

p08p1fy1I hope you’ve all had an outstanding Veterans Day and that you had an opportunity to thank a veteran along the way. It’s hard to describes the times we are living in, between the COVID extravaganza and the “Climate Crisis” you may want to see a therapist, it’s understandable but I submit this would be a bad idea. Why?

A psychologist, and I generalize, is a jackass who majored in psychology so they could understand themselves; not only were they struggling with their issues, they also couldn’t pass the Medical College Admissions Test a.k.a The MCAT. Readers of prior shoot the shit topics know that I’m hard of psychologists / therapists but I assure you that I’m being objective. Sadly, as a group, they are some of the most inept human science workers that $150+ per hour can buy you. Let me give you an current event example.

All of this week the media has been covering the Kyle Rittenhouse Murder Trial. If you’ve been watching Thomas Binger, the prosecutor, who is possibly the most incompetent jackass I’ve ever seen, you’ll recall him engaging Rittenhouse with questions like:

1. Let me see, Mr. R had an handgun pointed at your head in his hand and you had an AR-15 and you felt your life was in danger? You with an AR-15!

2. Do you know that he could have shot you from far away but he didn’t!

3. You said that you were hit in the back of your head by a skate board. Oh he did that twice and you thought getting hit with a skateboard could kill you!

4. When you were  rendering first aid, why couldn’t you put the gun down, why did you have that sling.

5. Let me see, you were afraid because someone was trying to take your gun?

I’ve included some of the highlights; however, note these are not precise quotations they’re accurate enough to convey a fair representation of his line of questioning..

The man is well educated and has considerable law experience but in my opinion he’s a disgrace to this country’s  justice system. His sole interest is not advancing justice it’s convicting Kyle Rittenhouse in order to advance a self-serving agenda; after watching the guy’s lackluster performance over two days he seems better qualified to be the pivot man at a gay bar mitzvah However, in all fairness,  Mrs. Binger, his spouse, is an Oakwood Clinical Associates mental health counselor. So, I rest my case.

In lieu of therapy consider scheduling a shoot the shit. This is a social interaction in which any topic can be discussed, participants don’t need to know anything about the topic, are free to make any unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject midstream. The efficacy of a good shoot the shit is unsurpassed and you can save the $150+ to buy your Thanksgiving turkey.

So, let’s shoot the shit about the “climate crisis”

  1. I’ll begin stating that planet earth is not a closed system, this means that we don’t dissipate heat at the same rate as it’s accumulated.
  2. Earth’s climate has been changing since its inception (about 4.5 billion years old), so any suggestion that the human race will be destroyed in 11 years is a vulgar display of ignorance.
  3. About 12,000 years ago the planet was warming sufficiently to melt a miles thick icecap creating the Great Lakes, which account for 20% of the world’s fresh water supply, fossil fuels and cow flatulence did not bring that about.
  4. There was no warming OFF switch after that event.
  5. Our planet is carbon based, meaning that carbon is part of everything; for example, our bodies are 18% carbon. All life forms on our planet give off methane (CH4) during decomposition, swamps, forests, animals , oceans, sewage, as well as fossil fuels, all contribute CH4 to the atmosphere.

That’s our baseline, but is it reasonable to assume that if we end usage of fossil fuels for transportation and energy production we’ll stop climate change? My answer to that question is no; however,  “climate crisis”,a political fabrication, does work to rally an uninformed segment of the population to vote for those advancing the theory. I personally accept that climate change is a reality but what we should be focusing on is adaptation as opposed to deflection.

The current approach of limiting fossil fuel production is already damaging the economy we’re already seeing that, but folks it gets much worse. Fossil fuel energy sources have been online and producing energy 24 hours a day 7 days a week;  we could have been replacing fossil fuel plants with nuclear power for years but chose not to. Instead we have elected official moving towards renewable energy sources which at the current state of technology are inefficient, unavailable 24×7 and take up vast amounts of land mass, take for example the proposed wind mill farms along the Atlantic Coast which will have a deleterious effect on the marine ecosystems damaging marine food sources.

There is also a national security concern. Not all states will support renewal energy technologies due to geography and climatic limitations (i.e. heavy cloud cover or relatively low winds). To power the country, you need an intelligent energy grid to distribute energy on demand. These grids will be heavily computerized running artificial intelligence; creating an attractive and vulnerable cyber target for miscreants and/or hostile foreign powers to target. Now, let’s compound the risks with the electric vehicle mandates for civilians, commercial and military transportation and you have a recipe for disaster. In taking this direction you’ve done two things, you’ve added a huge load to the grid without a robust ability to supply the massive load and you’ve created a national single point of failure. One successful cyber attack will shut the country down. Think about it for a while.

Once fossil fuels are gone, you can say goodbye to polymers, plastics, deodorant, cosmetics, … I’ve shown just a couple of products made from fossil fuels  but there’s a total of 6000 products made from fossil fuels

The “climate crisis” argument is a legacy building adventure, but, to date, I’ve seen nothing suggesting that a viable plan exists that ensures a reliable, high-output and redundant energy source. The real legacy may very well be global food lines.

Have a great week and schedule your own shoot the shit. Invites your friends and family! Keep sweat pumps in low speed !
