The Warrior Women Awards – A brand new awards presentation to recognize the achievements of women in the defense sector
A new awards presentation to recognize the achievements of women in the military is being launched by Bradfield & Associates in partnership with Christina Mackenzie of Women in Combat. The Warrior Women awards are to be presented next year in Paris on the evening of 13th of June to coincide with Eurosatory, the Paris based defense exhibition that attracts exhibitors and visitors from around the world.
The new set of awards are for women in the armed forces – Army, Air Force and Navy and will also include a category for Security forces. In each category there is to be an award for non-commissioned, rank and file women and another for officers and senior ranks. In addition, there are to be awards for women in the defense industries plus an Outstanding Achievement award and a Lifetime Achievement award.
The Warrior Women awards build on the work of Christina Mackenzie’s Wombat-womenincombat.com website where she profiles women who’ve chosen to put their considerable skills into defending their countries.
Speaking about the awards Christina Mackenzie said “Women perform outstanding work in both the armed forces and defense industries, and have had to overcome all sorts of challenges that their male colleagues cannot begin to guess at. It’s high time to recognize their achievements and to encourage young women to consider careers in professions which they may think are not for them.”
Peter Bradfield, the organizer of the Aerospace Media Awards and the Defence Media Awards said “This an exciting project and a superb opportunity to recognize the achievement of women in the defense sectors. I look forward to an outstanding event in Paris and invite the armed forces, industry and media from around the world to send in their nominations for women whom they believe would be worthy recipients of an award.”
