ADVISORY: NDIA’s SOLIC conference is next week

ADVISORY: One week until NDIA’s annual SO/LIC conference, in person and in DC

ARLINGTON, VA – Media are welcome to cover the 32nd annual SO/LIC Symposium<https://www.ndia.org/events/2021/11/3/32nd-annual-ndia-solic-symposium>, Thursday, Nov. 4, starting at 7 a.m. EDT, at the JW Marriott in Washington, DC, the National Defense Industrial Association announces.

Under the theme, “SOF and Strategic Competition – Access, Placement, Influence,” this event will explore the unique position of Special Operations forces to support and drive the “win” in any future conflict. SOF will be asked to reorient toward re-emerging threats, compete in a new era of cognitive conflict, modernize a digital age force and grow a healthy and resilient force to meet the challenges posed by rogue actors.

This event is hosted by NDIA’s Special Operations/Low-Intensity Conflict division. Among many featured speakers:

* Peter Coffey, deputy officer for Program Executive Office Services at U.S. SOCOM

* Ezra Cohen, senior fellow at the Hudson Institute

* Sen. Joni Ernst, R-IA

* Eugene Kuznetsov, chief data office for Naval Special Warfare

* Air Force Command Sgt. Maj. Gregory Smith, U.S. SOCOM senior enlisted leader

COVID-19 information

The SO/LIC Symposium planning team continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation as the health of our event participants, members and partners remains our top priority. We are committed to following the guidelines and precautions outlined by the Centers for Disease Control. Attendees can expect to see the following at this NDIA event:

* PROOF OF VACCINATION: All attendees will be required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours to being onsite for badge pickup. Proof of vaccination must be submitted no later than Monday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m. Submit your vaccination here<https://mgl.ud.net/fmi/webd/ndia>.

* MASKS: In the District of Columbia, masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination status. Accordingly, all participants at the SO/LIC symposium will be required to wear face masks at all times, except when actively eating or drinking. Please bring your own face mask. A very limited supply of disposable masks will be available onsite.

* WAIVER: All registrants are required to sign the COVID-19 waiver during the online registration process. Attendees may disclose their vaccination status at the time of signing.

* SOCIAL DISTANCING: Additional venue space will be available to allow for attendees to spread out. Timed badge pickups will be implemented to reduce crowding at registration.

* FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Food and beverage areas will be designed to minimize touch points, using individually packaged or attended stations.
