Time flies readers and once more Friday is upon us, so we look forward to a relaxing and enjoyable weekend; it’s also a great time to have a shoot the shit.

I don’t know about you all, but I can’t think of a time in our country’s history when there’s been more strife, obstruction and dysfunction, and the Congressional Confirmation process has become a monumental cluster fuck of biblical proportions and completely unbelievable! But, look,

it’s occasions like this that make our shoot the shit such an effective tool, and a less costly alternative to paying some jackass that studied psychology to understand him or herself $150+ per hour. Candidly, you’d be better served by your average aboriginal shaman.

I’ll kickoff my rant by recapping some of the highlights from Director Pompeo’s confirmation hearings. The man was asked by POTUS to take the helm at the State Department so what does Senator Corey Booker ask him: “…do you believe that gay sex is a perversion?…” ONLY IF IT’S UNLUBRICATED SENATOR BOOKER! Ask the man a policy question! Alas! Secretary Pompeo hung in there and made it through the confirmation process. We extend our congratulations to Secretary Pompeo!

Unfortunately Rear Admiral R.L. Jackson withdrew from consideration for Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The amount of crap the Democrats threw at him, all unsubstantiated, was amazing and I can’t blame him for not wanting to be dragged through the mud. The man has an incredible service record and served in two administrations with extremely high fitness reports. So, we veterans lost out, and I struggled to understand why.

I suspect that Ronny Lynn Jackson sounded a little too country for the Democrats – “Heavens he may drive a pickup and own guns” I was hoping to hear the Admiral’s response to Senator Booker asking what he would do if he encountered two male nurses having anal sex. ”Would you find that pervasive Admiral?”

Next we have the James Comey extravaganza, maybe fiasco is a better word. The former FBI Director, James Comey, has been on every talk show on the planet (a little Clintonish don’t you think). Everyone, including CNN, says he was leaking and that several of those leaks included classified information and were property of the government. All I can say is that this leaking crap needs to stop so we may soon see a new James Comey product.

It’s potentially a great fallback if the book flops! Although I understand the book has sold 600K copies in its first week – all of which bought by the DNC (humor not fact). But, for you last minute shoppers, Barnes and Nobel has them marked down 30% with an additional 10% if you’re a B&N member.

Comey’s “A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership,” has so far outpaced Hillary Clinton’s campaign memoir “What Happened,” so you can expect a full court press from Hillary because it was Comey’s fault.
