As demonstrated in this video, the system consists of an enrollment kiosk and an e-gate that can control passenger access throughout an airport as well as the boarding ramp. In this video, you’ll observe Rui, self-enrolling. During this process, his passport is scanned, the passport e-chip is read and his fingerprints are compared against the TSA’s data base. Identification is established on two modes, comparing the facial scan to the e-chip’s image template and fingerprints validated through the TSA’s data base. Once the passenger’s identity is established, subsequent facial scans at various points along the airport function as access authorization all the way to the boarding ramp.
