LAGUNA HILLS, CA – November 2011 – On October 31, 2011, the conglomerate ITT spun off its defense businesses into a company named Exelis, and its water technology business into a company named Xylem, each having their own publicly traded symbol and separate trading status. ITT Exelis encompasses four separate defense business divisions; Electronic Systems, Geospatial Systems, Communication Systems, and Mission Systems. The former “ITT Night Vision” is now a business unit of the Geospatial Systems division referred to as “Night Vision Systems & Imaging”. Through the Geospatial Systems division, ITT Exelis looks to the future as a global supplier of innovative night vision, remote sensing and navigation solutions that provide sight and situational awareness at the space, airborne, ground and soldier levels. Key applications include image intensification and thermal imaging; advanced power supplies; multi-spectral image systems; weather and climate monitoring; space science; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; GPS-based positioning, navigation and timing systems; and image exploitation software.
